Hey dudes and dudettes;
We're psyched. You're psyched. We all know why... we're playing a big show at LA's Spaceland tomorrow! Those of you who haven't bought tickets online, don't fret... there are a limited amount of tickets available at the door. Also, we're not sure, but the Neptunes Fan site might still be running its
Win Chester French Tickets Contest. Hit up our friends over there to find out.
As most of you know, tomorrow's show isn't a solo gig. We've got our friends Inverse and Jeppe opening up for us. Today and tomorrow we're gonna help those of you unfamiliar with these artists get to know them better. Today, we'll introduce y'all to Inverse.
Inverse is a pair of LA-based rappers, Toby and Tunji. As the group's name suggests, Toby and Tunji are inverses of each other; one's white, the other's black; one was raised Jewish, the other Muslim; one grew up in LA, the other in the bay area. When the two of them get together, the combination causes sparks. Sparks, in turn, cause heat. And if it's heat we're talking about, Inverse certainly brings it.
The group came together in 2001 and has been on the grind ever since. Their long-awaited debut album "Long Day's Journey," comes out this year. Now, we could give you a string of names these dudes sound like (like OutKast meets the Beatles or Nina Simone meets Atmosphere) or tell you about who's on the record (Talib Kweli, Brother Ali, Blu, 9th Wonder) but we think their music
speaks for itself. You guys are in for a treat.
See all you LA fans there tomorrow!
Oh, and those of you who didn't get a ticket? We've got a
show at Spaceland on the 28th as well.
