One of our members needs some advice:

"What do you think about Adobe Photoshop Element 5.0? Does it work well editing photos for a Photography business?

Thanks

Sad to say (I hate admitting this) but I use Photoshop Elements 3.0.
O_O

If you know what you're doing... there's really no need in spending TONS of money. Same thing. I've used CS2-3 it's great.. but.. I've gotta work with what I have.

I use Elements 2.0 and I bet I can do more than 95% of the people who have CS3. It's just a matter of learning everything your software has to offer.

All elements is missing that is really important is curves (I use levels to compensate) and layer masks. That can be fixed by just creating an adjustment layer and not adjusting, then applying whatever effect you want.

I'm getting ready to get CS3 though because I need actions to get through my work faster.

I have photoshop cs3 and now that I know how to use it,it feels like photoshop elements limits me
to my potential...it doesn't have alot of the things that photoshop cs3 does....my neighbor has elements and she seems to happy with it so it is all up to you. I personally prefer photoshop over any other.

ID LIKE TO KNOW WHAT EXACTLY YOU CAN DO ON CS2 RATHER THAN ELEMENTS, I ALWAYS WONDERED THAT BEFORE I BUY IT. I DO HAVE ELEMENTS 5.0 AND I LOVE IT. I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO DO ANYTHING THAT IT HASNT BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE.

I have been usuing Elements 5.0 over the past year, and just got CS2. I still tend to use my Elements most of the time, tho. It just seems to be much simpler, yet sufficient for most of my needs. I'm sure I'll be using CS2 when I know how to use all of the advanced features, but Elements works well enough, if you know how to use it. :)

I really enjoyed using CS2. I also got a free download for 30 days. Although it took me 30 days how to use it, but I really enjoyed all the features. But, its a little okay a lot too expensive for me.

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS3, but I prefer Photoimpact. Which is so easier to use, and a lot cheaper! Adobe Creative CS3 is around $700 where as Photoimpact is around $100. I prefer whatever works, that is cheaper and easier!!!!

I have CS3 and Elements 6.0! I got Elements 6.0 for Christmas, and I haven't touched CS3 since!!! I like the creative photo collage aspect of elements 6.0, and the backgrounds!!! CS is still nice to have just in case!!! BUT I absolutely love Elements 6.0!

Don't be sad to admitting to Photoshop Elements 3.0 That's what I use....... AND I LOVE IT. I definately recommend the book by Scott Kelby The photoshop elements book he has it out for 3.0 and 5.0 for sure but I'm sure the other ones as well. As for CS3 I have it and haven't used it yet because I am adicted to Photoshop Elements 3.0
