One of our members needs some advice:

"I've been doing mainly outdoor shoots & using natural light. I would like to get into shooting on location- indoors, but am unsure of the type of equipment I will need.
If I were to purchase the items needed, what would you recommend? What is the best portable lighting, that is also cost effective? What other types of props & tools would I need for setting up an indoor shoot? Anyone that can make a list of things they would bring with them to shoot on location would help me out a lot.
I'm mainly interested in doing maternity and newborn pictures indoors, but during the cold, rainy months it's harder to use natural light. Thanks for any advice."

to get me started I've been getting what I can find cheapest and I've been Ebaying my butt off.

lights and some backgrounds from here
http://stores.ebay.com/2DreamMaker

a few other places as well. once I get a studio I'll still use this stuff for travel, and get some better stuff for setting up a studio.

Try typing in used photography equipment in google or mywebsearch and some good site should come up. I started off with 2 simple umbrella lights that I bought from Ritz Camera and just ordered a backdrop stand and two backdrops...just black and white to get started from I think calumetphoto.com....there are a few good ones that have reasonable prices. I found a couple that had free shipping as well.....sorry I can't remember the sites and I didn't save them. Good luck
