One of our memebers needs some advice:

"I have a real problem with church lighting during weddings.  For one, I have a Sony DSC-H5 and I have trouble getting the right mode/settings for such lighting for when people are not moving (any suggestions on a good setting?) and and even worse time with using my built-in flash.  It seems to take a long time for my flash to recharge, and when the bridesmaids, groomsmen and bride all come down the isle, I can't catch everything because my flash didn't recharge in time!  I was looking at slave flashes for cameras like mine, but would that be a solution?  I need help!"

I need to know the same thing about lighting in a church! What type of external flash is the best? I have yet to do a wedding, but people keep asking!

You may simply need to boost your ISO/ASA
Many churches frown on flashes...some prohibit.

For weddings I use my Bronica and mamiya 645 film cameras. with a Sunpack pro 622 system flash unit with its power supply pack. I dont run out of power and the flash recharges.
When the churches dont allow flash to be used. I usually go for ASA800 to be able to get low lighting in a curch. Sorry I dont use digitals for wedding because I do not like Ink jet prints
for weddings portraits.
IM to old fashion I guess.
