I agree, the lighting is great for the type of photo, it sets the mood.
I think I would have rather have seen more of the lid in the photo, or not at all. Still a nice shot!

Beautiful! Love the colors and mood you captured. I'm normally not a big fan of auto settings, but it appears you did a very fine job in this mode. Great composition, detail and colors.

I like this! Your camera is taking nice quality low light shots. A flash usually kills the mood, this here is right there with the person lighting the candles.

It's a little small, from what I can see it's looks like a good shot. Great skin tones.

Photo taken in Waldo, Florida in the backyard of a friends house. It's an old pecan grove. The fence really made the pic for me.

Edited with Picnik, taken with Canon Rebel XTi, Auto setting

Good choice with the B & W. I don't think it would give the same vibe in color. Love it!

I think it looks great, if you get another chance, to stand exactly where you were, I would like to see the same photo, only shot from closer to the ground, so many kneel or sit down. I think the view would be so much more from there, but still, nice shot, great B&W!!!

I like the spooky feel of it. B&W is so much more effective in this photo. Great job.

My eyes were immediatly drawn to the fence. Love the B&W, it gives it an erie feeling. Not where I would want to be at night...lol

It's a bit spooky...and I really like the contrast. The branches are like abstract fingers and the darkness at the back makes one wonder what is lurking there.

Great capture!

Wonderful image. The fence adds an anchor point, and also gives a reference of scale. I like the b/w effect for the drama it adds to the image, and the contrast is pleasing. Very good!

Nice... I live in FL :) - Jacksonville. Have a Canon Rebel XT. This came out great in auto setting. You may have gotten even better results in manual mode, with white balance bracketing and ISO adjustment. What lens did you use?

Unfortunately at the time, I hadn't even TOUCHED my manual mode... I'm still learning, but I think I have a better grasp now. My friends have moved out of the house, but I think no one is living there yet, so I may sneak back over for a few shots and try the other suggestion of kneeling down. Thanks all!!

I can relate. My first shots with my "manual" were also "auto" ... truth be told I'm still more about the shot than technique :) and it's almost a year into my manual camera ownership. I do love the shot, you have a great eye.

Canon Rebel XT - 135mm IS lens, manual focus, ISO 800, no flash, f6.3

I took this for my mysapce friends for Easter commenting, dangled the figurine from a branch in my back yard and looked for the best angle to capture the light in the glass. :)

Love the light and detail of this image. Has very nice dof, and the white with yellow and greens is perfect. Plus the frame really draws the viewer into this lovely flower.
