When A Man Loves a Woman
LaConnie Taylor Jones
What woman would not want the attention of Dr. A.J. Baptiste. He is everything that a woman could want: single, handsome, very wealthy and a family man. The single father of two-year- old twin girls has set his sights on former nursing administrator Victoria "Vic" Bennett. Vic, however, wants nothing to do with the good doctor, In fact, after divorcing her cheating husband eight years ago she wants nothing to do with the emotion called love. Attempts by family and friends to get the two together frustrates Vic, and one night after running away from yet another plot at making her and A.J. a couple, fate intervenes.
La Connie writes a spirited romance between A.J. and Vic. They struggle through the ups and downs of a relationship. She also provides a very interesting back story featuring the effects of drugs and the street life and provides a platform for adoption. There were a couple of fun secondary characters that I would not mind seeing in a romance novel of their own. I look forward to more of the writing of this author.
