Polar Bears Might Get Help
Polar bears received a late holiday gift from the Bush Administration last year when it proposed that they be listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. "We are concerned the polar bears' habitat may literally be melting," said Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne.

Rumors are swirling in Washington, D.C. that the Administration's acknowledgement of the plight of the polar bears is an early signal that President Bush might finally say something significant about global warming -- perhaps as soon as his State of the Union Address on January 23. If you think that sounds like a good idea, let the President know.

It's less a "fake" than being used in a disingenuous manner.

Fake or whatever, I posted it because I am concerned that the polar bear population has declined in certain areas 22% in the last ten years, I am concerned because they are drowning, and they are starving, and we are responsible for this tragedy, like so many other tragedy's but we can do something about it.

Haha - Polar bears are no where near extinction.

In fact... the polar bear population is greater now than ever.
As you stated 'rumors' - and that is truely all they are.

Don't get me wrong - I believe Global Warming is indeed an issue that needs attention.
But - when it comes to "da polar bears" they're O.K. - let them be.

The bears in question (that had drowned) were actually a mere 4/40 that were caught in a rough storm that month. Scientific research suggests the large waves were the cause.
Mother nature takes its toll.

Check the facts before alarming people.
