*******All information in this blog is taken from the December 18th 2006 National Enquirer Article, "Biggest Loser Star Dumps Wife After Affair on Show" absolutely NONE of this information comes from information I discovered or personal experience while I was on The Biggest Loser.

Ok, so I was gonna keep my big mouth shut- but we all know that it's not in my nature.

I just received a text message from a friend on the east coast that is watching the reunion show, I don't watch tv, don't even have it hooked up actually and if I did I wouldn't be watching anyway- other than to see how beautiful Pammy looks- anyway my best friend from highschool texts me telling me that Marty is going to propose to Amy on the show. Am I the only one who remembers Marty's WIFE!?!?!

ok, so I get it, things happen people fall in and out of love, even when you are married, I would have made different choices (for example telling my wife before beginning a new relationship) things happen. Apparently they fell in love, and I do believe sometimes things just happen no matter how hurtful they may be to others, LIKE YOUR WIFE.

Here is what pisses me off about the situation; (yes, it's none of my business but so fucking what?!)  At worst Marty and Amy are using their relationship as a marketing angle at best they are being used by 3Ball and NBC. This publicity stunt will help to promote their new personal training business and they can market themselves as the new "Matt and Suzy" and NBC and 3Ball ever looking after more publicity and money are more than happy to oblige. Guess what people Matt and Suzy WERE NOT CHEATING on a SPOUSE with each other at the ranch MARTY and AMY were, why are we rewarding this behavior as though it were an ideal fairytale to emmulate? Fat or thin, this is tacky shit. Again, I get it- sometimes you can't help falling in love, but you CAN help the choices you make and the sensitivity you show toward someone you loved enough at one point to MARRY. You could  have the decency to not flaunt your affair in the face of a woman who sent you off to a TV show that was supposed to change both your lives, a woman who worked her ass off to hold down the fort at home, lose weight and become healthier while you were gone. A woman who loved you before you were "Marty from The Biggest Loser" when you were just "Marty a teacher from the mid-west."

I get that NBC could give a shit about this woman, they care only about $, but come on Amy and Marty show some sensitivity. Seriously what the fuck is wrong with people?

* If you don't remember Marty's wife watch the cruise episode again, where she was his secret guest waiting for him, imagine how he must have shit himself when he saw her, talk about what must have been an awkward boat trip for EVERYONE*

Yes, Kai....I was thinking the same thing as I am sitting here watching the reunion show (which, I must say, is a total letdown). I am also, as you are, thinking...what about Marty's wife? So far, they have not stated that they started any kind of relationship at the ranch but, I have to say, that I would not be surprised if they do.

Like most reality TV, rewrite the past all in the name of ratings and the all mighty dollar.

Yes it is interesting, I never hear any one talk about that aspect of it. I was there at the taping so I knew about it and have had conflicting feelings about it also.

Wow! I thought he was single-when he went home I dont remember his wife being part of the show just the kids at his school. That is so messed up! Media will do anything for ratings! I like the show but you have really opened my eyes to the B.S. and as I have 11 years of broadcasting career in radio-I know that everyone lies for ratings! It is so sad! Marty & Amy must have no conscience!

I thought he had a wife and didn't ever understand how he and Amy hooked up cause he did mention her on the show one time and I do agree, I think it was very insensitive, I like Marty and Amy yes, but like you said, to do that on national tv I think was very wrong, very disrespectful. I wish you had been on there, I just watched it and it was pretty good. I love Allison Sweeny cause I am a big Days fan, Matt looks like he's gained some weight back though. I think NBC should have brought you and Heather both back. Take care Kai! You rock!

I think they have both done wonderfully with their weight loss, but I have to agree, Kai, that it was in such poor taste for this to be announced on TV. The first thing I thought about was Marty's wife. I really don't remember his saying anything about her, (I didn't see all the episodes) but I did notice he was wearing a ring. Then when he was voted off, and they did his update, I saw that it was gone, and the only ones to greet him were his students. So that was all going on during the CRUISE? That seemed to be pretty early on!

This is so sad. I mean, I'm by no means the moral police, but having been through a divorce myself, I know how devastating it is, and I just wonder where their heads are to have flaunted this engagement.

As for the show, I thought it had too many commercial breaks, the new host's hair looks fried with bleach, and YOU weren't there! NBC seemed to have really dropped the ball with this one. But Pam looked gorgeous, and Pete and Nelson were phenomenal, too.

Sorry if I've sounded too critical. But that's the way I see it.

I think it is in poor taste for NBC to pay for the ring. I'd rather have a smaller ring or whatever purchased by the person that was supposed to love me...but of course, that would show good taste and obviously that isn't a concern for anyone involved.

Hugs Kai, you should have been included.

Right on!! I have been kinda wonderin what happened wit them, since the show first ran.. I then watched it when it re-ran about 2 months ago. I did see the Cruise episode, and ya, it just made me wonder, WTF? Interesting that it seemed to happen very early on in your guys' time at the ranch. But then again, with the wonders of editing, I guess you can never be too sure what exactly is going on. Thanks for the clarification tho, I love checkin' up on your page to see what you have to say!!

So with Marty & Amy, do relationships that start like this have a happily ever after to them. I know a couple that are having a tough time in marriage and they both have said DIVORCE IS NOT AN OPTION so we have to figure it out. What happen to the stick-to-it-ness we had as a society? I hear people say stuff happens, you fall in love with other people not unless you are spending time with the person all the time and that is a choice--a bad choice--if you are married!!! I'm trying to understand it all. When you say in your vows, til death do us part...what does that mean to people...until something better comes along. I agree with rangpure, that is why our society is so messed up--we are a "if it feels good and it's not hurting someone then do it society...oh even if it is hurting someone but it feels good to you....do it anyway. I'm trying to understand it all and I probably never will.

but quick question- wasn't Amy ALSO married during S3 as well?? I thought I recalled her saying during the first episode that she was on the show because her "husband" had told her he "wasn't attracted" to her anymore?

I am a wife of a bl4 contestant. I am so happy that a past contestant gets the crap that family members go through!!! I get that the show can help people lose weight and get healthy- but what they refuse to give a shit about is what it does to relationships with those left behind at home. All the "drama" that is made by refusing to let loved ones communicate unless it is to their benefit is BULLSHIT! I love my husband SOOOOO very much, but we are now in the process of rebuilding our friendship - because months and months of not talking - we were bound to grow apart. To me, that is not the way to help people get healthy.

As for Marty and Amy, - How shitty can you get to flaunt everything evil. This poor woman gave up her husband - for what she thought would be several months - to really losing him. Then a year later gets it thrown in her face again!!! And Marty and the show get to profit from it???? How very sick.

Sheri..thank you for coming forward as a family member..I am Kai's sister and my heart was broken on many occasions for my sister and all that she went through. It was one of the hardest things our whole family has had to overcome. On the boards, people were mean to my sister for being outspoken but also for things skewed by the show. It was just unbelievable when strangers started attacking me when I tried to explain about editing and how it hurt to have complete strangers saying such hateful things based on what NBC/BL wanted people to see and to think. This Amy/Marty thing just shows that not everything you see is actually what happened. I wish you luck and my heart goes out to you and your family, as it does to all those past family members and future family members who are dragged through the trenches in the name of weight loss and reality TV, Bree

I so agree 100 percent! I was sitting there watching and thinking, damn, somebody lacks a sensitivity chip (as one famous actress once said about her famous ex-husband...). While it's true we as viewers don't know the whole story behind what was happening in Marty and his wife's marriage, I STILL think that him proposing to somebody he began a relationship with while still married to his wife, and all on national television(!), was tacky and mean and just plain ignorant.

And of course, like everybody else, I wish you had been on the show! I would have liked to see a ho-hum show made that much more exciting by your presence. :o)

Girl..you certainly ARE NOT the only one thinking that. I was sitting there thinking...."hmm thought he had a wife"...uhh it would be really hurtful to her..it's too bad cause I really liked him on the show (guess I was oblivious to all that was going on).

I do agree, it was more of a publicity stunt for a) their business..and I agree with another poster...FOR SURE NBC paid for that ring..or else they wouldn't have shown off the jeweller (good point people!!). Pay for your own damn ring and do it without having to do it on national tv. Some of us care about family...apparently he doesn't..as this would be hurtful to his ex (he is divorced right??).

I guess now that he thinks he's the shit...he can do and say what he wants...here's hoping I don't get like that when I'm thinner.

I MISS YOU KAI...and I wish you would have been on there girl!! Seriously..you would have rocked the place...and what the hell..a little controversy never hurt ratings, no matter what the tv show lol. You rock..and I love that you speak your mind..keep it up!

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could NOT believe they gave that air time....what about his poor wife - I mean, ex-wife's - feelings, for God's sake? I am absolutely not passing judgement on their decisions and actions because I'm pretty damned imperfect -- I am passing judgement on the extreme lack of taste and tact and class that Marty & NBC showed.

And wow -- I didn't even think about the cruise appearance -- my God, can you imagine how humiliated she must have felt later on when she learned about the affair? The ONLY thing that keeps me from weeping for her is that it's clear now that she was married to a total TOOL and she's better off without him in the long run!!!!!!!!

I LOVE IT WHEN YOU BLOG!!!!!!

No shit!

If I was the mrs ex I would sue NBC for public humiliation and emotional distress. They not only allowed the relationship to continue once it began, but then made a HUGE deal of it!

I am of the opinion that if the players can't keep their pants on while on the ranch they should be kicked off and not allowed to finish!

And I checked out Amy & Marty's personal trainer website. I thought, "what a great idea, they learned so much and now they can help other people." Yeah, right! They think they are so great that they've totally priced themselves out of helping the very same people they used to be -- teachers don't make much money and no teacher I know of could afford their rates!

Karma, baby!

It always worries me the when relationships start out like theirs. I have a friend and she was cheating on her husband. She ended up getting a divorce and marrying the guy she was cheating on him with. I would be worried that it could happen again.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Okay I can totally see your point, and believe it or not, I am not a huge BL fan myself.. but I did watch that whole season... I do find it tacky to propose on TV, but only Marty and his wife knows what goes on behind closed doors... you only see one side of it.. but they probably had some marriage issues that only THEY knew about, and we did not see.. granted it was wrong for them to see other people when they were still married, BUT being a best friend to a woman who lives in a HORRIBLE marriage, I wouldn't BLAME her one bit for finding another man while she was still married and then divorce him... I see the pain my sister goes through with her so called "caring husband".. everyone see's my sisters husbans as LOVING SUPPORTIVE, does everything for her, but when those doors are closed, her life is HELL... maybe Marty and Amy are not happy in their marriage, that's none of our business.. BUT I agree with the Proposal on TV, that's a little tacky.... but if someone is unhappy in their marriage, it changes everything.... I agree with your point in this, but then we have to figure we dont know what is going on in each of their marriages.. we have no clue..

Thank You!!!! I mean Dang!!!! Congrats to Amy--she has a guy who will cheat and Congrats to Marty--he has a woman that has no morals----so they think they fell in love--as we all know at first you only see the good in each other---pretty soon Marty will see the bad and then he will start to compare Amy to his ex--he may even regret it---Did you know that if you marry your misstress that there is only 90% chance that it will even last??? What Marty and Amy did was selfish---my heart goes out to his ex wife---knowing they are on TV--ugggg---I just don't have any repsect for anyone who cheats---but one changes his or her ways then that takes courage---Anyway, I could go on and on but I will leave with---Amy and Marty did not deserve to be on the reunion show----Was it just me or was Marty cocky????????? I think the top 4 should of been on the reunion show-----What comes around goes around-----Thanks for writing this blog---it takes courage to stand up for what you believe in--I don't know what is wrong with these people--We live in Korea now so I will have to download the reunion show and if you are not on it then that is just awful---You are one of the ones I like the most --
