Hey gang,
You Office fans'll dig this the most.
Just wrapped up my two days of prep on season 4 of The Office. Yup. I'm back to work. Freaky. Everything's different this year, from the crew I'm working with to the way things are operating. Too early to tell how it'll all shake out, so I'll say simply...it's good to be back. For the most part.
Camein Thursday and met my new team.Spent most of the daydoing mundane things like prepping walkies for distribution to the crew and organizing supplies for when my dept. goes out on location. Which, sadly, will be a lot. Hell, our first scene on our first day is on location. I remember when this was a little show set in a paper office. (pause while I daydream fondlywith a smile).
Nice short day. Today... Not so much.
Today started off great because EVERYBODY came in. The day started off with a mandatory sexual harassment seminar per NBC, which is always a joke. Sorry, NBC.. That presenter sucks. But anyways, building upto that, I got to stand in the parking lot and watch as the cast I know and love drove in one by one. Hugs and hellos and welcome backs were exchanged ad nauseum and it was fantastic. I love this cast. I love this crew. These people are friends to me and it had been too long since I'd seen a good many of them. This was the first time I'd seen Jenna since we wrapped Walk Hard. She's doing well I'm happy to say. I got to see the wholegang again. Leslie, Kate, Angela, Brian, Ed Helms!!!, my boy Craig Robinson!!, Oscar, John, Rainn, Creed and of course Steve. We talked briefly about Comic Con and Get Smart.
So anyways, everyone finished snickering their way through the seminar and we began the long process of costume fittings, doctor physicals, haircuts and anything else the cast has scheduled for them today. All goes great and eventually, they all go home. I spend the rest of the day helping my team do.... You know...I'm kinda tired and half drunk right now. I have no idea what I really did from 3pm to 9pm. I guess I was running around a lot gathering information for the callsheet or performing some small errand for someone. It really wasn't all that glorifying. Not enough for me tobe able to remember I guess. It was an easy day that turned into a long one.
But hell, the beginning of the day was grand so that's all that matters.
We start shooting on Monday.
Here's hoping the rest of the season is as grand as today started out to be. To tell the truth...It's all kinda up in the air right now.
Wish me luck.
