Coffee and Love To Go

Missy phones into Coffee Chat, a local radio talk show, hoping to get advice from Connie, the talk show host. Intrigued by Missy's situation, Connie asks listeners to call in and give their opinion, should Missy make a move on Mr. Coffee?

Meanwhile the mystery coffeehouse man, Dan, happens to catch the broadcast and puts two and two together. Skim latte=beautiful redhead.

After a few bobbled meeting mishaps at the coffee shop Dan decides to take a chance on love and calls in to Coffee Chat. If he really wants Missy will he overcome his shyness to go after what he wants?

Coffee and Love To Go is a sweet story about the beginning of a relationship. Christine Columbus hits a nerve with the two shy characters that need help coming together. They find it with help from a radio talk show. Coffee and Love To Go is a must read. My only regret is it didn't last long enough. I look forward to reading more by Christine Columbus

Christine Columbus scored another winner with this delightful tale of two people who meet every morning at the coffee shop. They can't quite work up the nerve to introduce themselves and the tension lasts throughout the story. Will they or won't they? That IS the question.

Your stories takes people back to when their love was new, when they weren't certain of each other - a place we all want to go.

Coffee And Love To Go

5 star review:  Date Added: 03/11/2007

This story, told from the man's point of view, made me laugh out loud. A good, heartwarming read!

EXCERPT:

The voice coming through the radio sounded vaguely familiar to me.  I searched the dashboard looking for the controls for the air conditioning; it had to be at least 100 degrees in the car.

"Thank you.  And your name is?" Connie the announcer asked.

     "Missy."

"And you have a comment about meaningful eye locks?"  Connie asked.

"For the last two weeks when I stop in the morning to pick up a cup of coffee I see the same man and our eyes end up in an embrace," Missy said.

     "Tell me more," Connie said.

"The first time I saw him we were both walking towards Fresh Brew.  We reached the entrance at the same time and as he reached for the door, our eyes locked.  It was weird; this was the first time I ever stood motionless gazing into a stranger's eyes."

I stopped looking for the air conditioning and began concentrating on her voice.

"If a customer wouldn't have nudged us we'd probably still be standing there."

"And this has been going on for two weeks?"

"I think he's shy.  That's why I'm calling.  Do you think I should make the first move and ask him out?"

I was shocked to realize that the woman on the talk show was the woman who ordered a skim latte' every morning.  The same woman I had been thinking of asking out, and she was talking about me!  I couldn't help but grin and lean closer to listen.

"Well, let's see if any of our listeners has an opinion.  Call in and let me know if you think Missy should make a move on Mr. Coffee."

I grabbed my cell phone and dialed.  The line was busy.  I dialed again.

"Good Afternoon and what do you think?"  Connie asked.

"Of course ask the guy out," I said.

"Excuse me.  What did you say?  Hello.  Hello."

I hit the end button with my thumb.  Connie's voice was back on the radio.  "It seems we had a bad connection, but I think the caller suggested asking the guy out."

What was I thinking?  If Missy knew I was listening in to Coffee Chat, I'd never be able to ask her out and I'd end up having to find a new place to get coffee in the morning.
