So!
Katie and Jules here..
We arrived back in Manchester today from Norway via the States -via Japan. Flying all the way around the world…phew!
Firstly, we just want to apologise to the crowd of thousands in Norway that stayed up until one in the morning to see us play only four songs. I'm afraid that you all jumped around so much that the roof of the tent was close to collapse ) : how shit is that. We wish we could have played more songs but we got frog marched off out of the tent because the entire stage was beginning to become unsafe and the PA looked like it was going to fall on the crowd. On the bright side, you danced so much you broke the tent! Well done! Bravo bravo! How cool is that!
We hope we can make it back their asap to finish our performance. Also, can you BELIEVE the smoke machine in the second song? It was pure spinal tap. We could not see a thing for the entire song, and we hear that you could not see us. I actually had to go play my guitar at the side of the stage to get out the smoke. Not that any of you noticed cause you couldn't see me anyway. But it was very funny. If anybody has photos could you send us one as we want it as photographic evidence to show our friends.
Japan was odd. Brilliantly odd. We found out that out there the band name "ting ting" means an errmm….. affectionate name for a gentleman's errr manhood. Nice.
We are called the equivalent of "the cocks" or "the weeners" or " the pricks"
Typical
We had only 3 days there but it was a defo culture shock. In the best way possible.
Go to ImageShack&174; to Create your own SlideshowThe tour of the states was "AWESOME". Some of our best shows yet. We got exhausted half way through but got some rest and feel better now. Thank you to everybody that came, and to our support Anni Rossi. She was mesmerising and superb.
We did a little project to keep us sane out there. It involved performing & dancing on our vinyl records every night and taking them everywhere with us. We tiled the stage floors before each gig, documented each night, ate on them, slept with them and took them on our bus journeys. We even got strangers to sit or dance on them. We then sold them at each gig and kept some. We wanted to come away from the gigs with something more than just a gig memory. We are playing so many different places at the moment, and its all going so fast that we are afraid we will forget it all. So this way we have something tangible to remember. They look great. Like cherished 20 yr old records you find in record shops.
Go to ImageShack&174; to Create your own SlideshowIts late and its taken us about 4 hours to upload the photos! The main problem we are finding with jet lag is indecisiveness. We keep changing our minds about what we want to say, what photos to use, what to eat. We have no sense of time… if you see us in Sainsburys tomorrow, loitering, you know why.
