Hello, We are pleased to announce that our new album Funny Times is coming out late August / early September. My brother has done an amazing painting for the front cover and it will have these eleven songs on it...... 1. Funny Times 2. My Home No Longer Is My Home 3. I Can't Bring The Time Back 4. Keep Moving 5. How Did You Manage To Get Inside My Head? 6. Sitting On Your Doorstep 7. Everything Goes Wrong 8. Home Made War 9. We Do Do We We Do 10. Serious Thing 11. The Long Conveyor Belt
We are planning a big momma tour to coincide with it's release. With our favourite bands Kate Goes and The Retro Spankees along with us. A single is planned too but we can't decide between I Can't Bring The Time Back or Serious Thing at the moment. Your thoughts are always welcome. More news to follow soon on Funny Times. We had an idea to release 100 copies early with a free cdr of some other songs. But these ideas need to be thought through before advertising them on a blog. Like I just did.
We're playing in Lithuania in a couple of weeks. All paid for by The British Council. They want us to represent Britain! I really don't know how good an advert we are for Britain. But we shall give it a go. Very much looking forward to having an interpreter. Mainly the idea of having someone repeat everything you say. I've been asked to sit on a panel with some music industry people whilst we're there. Needless to say I shall do my level best to annoy anyone who I feel needs annoying.
We're doing two last minute gigs in London and Birmingham on the 19th and 21st of May. Due to the short notice, I'm imagining them being quite empty so do come down if you have nothing better to do. Oh and if Myspace ever lets me, I'm changing the songs on the page tonight including the instrumental of Fashion Parade to download for free. You know the one. It's been on the BBC you know. Which means it's proper music. Ironically, the bit they keep using was meant to be the dumbest keyboard line anyone could write. All together now... Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip-Bip-Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip Bip. But one musn't grumble. It makes my Mom happy! What doesn't make my Mom happy is the news I'm working on another Grandmaster Gareth album! "Grandmaster Gareth's Magical Sound Shower". Oh yes. Not that anyone buys them of course. You're no fools. Anyway, one musn't grumble. If you only knew how much time I spend making these albums. It's fine. It's fine. Make sure you wear a jumper at the moment. Weather can be deceptive. I had indeed stopped wearing mine last month but have been forced to resume wearing them again. And there's a bug going round and if you don't keep warm you'll definitely catch it. Grandmaster Gareth p.s. If you'd like to stop making me feel like Grandmaster Gary Barlow, you can purchase THE PARTY SOUNDS OF GRANDMASTER GARETH from www.myspace.com/mistyslittleshop As well as other goodies. Though what you really want to brighten up your May is THE PARTY SOUNDS OF GRANDMASTER GARETH. Seriously. Don't go looking at the other stuff thinking "hmm I'm not sure". p.p.s. You really really do. Just stop and think of all the boxes of them clogging up my house. I'll even let you haggle.
