I mean, come on. Live versions of old songs? A ringtone? Where's the new stuff? Remixes. B-sides.

I agree with her (above). I own 3 "A Mark"... now it is going to be 3 "Dusk & Summer" too...
A lot of money is spent when more than one CD version is released... and all these stuff could have been released - easily - in only one CD.
 

I agree - this is getting a bit beyond a joke, and I know it's not just Dashboard that are doing this.

Live versions of songs that fans will probably already have - the radio version of "Stolen" (which is inferior to the original album one anyway) which people would have bought as a CD single anyway, and a three year old plus song? Hardly bonus.

Where's the stuff that you recorded and discarded prior to rewriting "Dusk and Summer"? Or demos that never quite made the final cut?

Not very good, but sadly, the way a lot of bands are now going... :(

We want a DVD.. Preferably the 2006 show at The Pageant in St. Louis, which is probably in my top 5 shows of all-time :) And can you please take down the radio version of "Stolen" and put the album version up? That radio version leaves a vommit taste in my mouth every time I hear it.. That, or at least put up "Currents," which is one of the better cuts on Dusk and Summer.. No kudos until then...
 

Hopefully, it excludes the "new and improved" So Long, So Long....Thankfully, I burned the original, and much better version years ago.

Chris, I know you need to make money but stop allowing all these big name corporations to tell you what to write, where to sell and how to sell it. Revert back to your old ways, at least for one album and release the stuff that those big name producers told you "we wouldn't like", because honestly, I bet we, (your fans), would like that stuff much better.

This is a waste of a rerelease...like others have said...if it had a dvd included, i would get it, but we all have these versions because you can get them on the internet or thru file sharing. this is a big disappointment.
 

Ick. I think I'm probably going to pass too.
I already have a live version of Deceptions and I don't like Ghost that much.
So all I'd be buying it for is my preferred version of Stolen.
Which I can just hear on the radio.
 

:] FINALLY! i haven't been able to find the radio "Stolen" anywhere. i own 2 of a lot of their cds, but it's worth every penny to me. sure wish they'd come back to Houston...
 

I agree with Mikoto and Katie... it is a waste for a rerelease. I would rather take my chances and illegally obtain the tracks i don't have (which is none) than keep spending my money for the same stuff.... you know Chris, people are not as rich as you... sorry to say... and all this greed either you or the record compnay has has got me not wanting to see you this next tour..... it is sad to see you waste yer time to try to lose the fans who supported you all along.

ok so I dont care how many versions come out I am a TRUE fan and I will by every single one. You people complain like its being forced upon you to buy it.And if you dont agree with it than all you have to do is not buy it. But like I said im a TRUE fan and I actually like that you guys do many different versions of songs. Ive been listening to you guys for sssooo long and you guys truly are THE BEST, that I will NEVER get sick of any of your albums or songs. If anything you should but out more. Ill be the first in line. So guys keep doing your thing cuz you have plenty of devoted fans that are just waiting for the next one. Oh yea and you guys should start playing smaller shows again. I know you guys are all main stream now but the smaller shows are so much better.{no stupid teenie bopers}

No-one ever said that anybody was or wasn't a true fan.

If you want a true fan, then there are plenty of us :

* Who were there when Chris was in Further Seems Forever (and before)

* Who bought the EP's on import because they weren't released in the UK

* Who stood in the pouring rain to see an acoustic set when no-one else was interested

What the point being made by myself, Katie and Derek (who I know ARE true fans) and the others on here who disagree with this release is that it's a little bit beyond a joke.

Yes, no-one's forcing us to buy it, and that's the choice we're making. However, I recall the time when Chris would never have done stuff like this as he truly seemed to care about his fans.

On recent tours, he's not even taken the time to come out afterwards and speak to people who've waited hours after the show to just chat. The same can't be said of the other guys, especially Scott and Johnny.

It just seems that Chris is more interested in making as much money as possible (which in a way is understandable - he's worked hard to get where he's at today), and seems to have forgotten who he is.

If you're a true fan (and I'm not doubting you are for a second), ask yourself this - would the Chris Carrabba that really cared for his fans from even just one album back have half a dozen sports cars and wear white pants and designer shirts? It may seem churlish, but it's a sign of how the guy appears to have changed, and unfortunately, bringing out the same album with just a radio version of a song and stuff that's over three years old doesn't really cut it with me or other true fans.

The show in Columbus last summer was THE best I had ever been to. His passion for music was clear.

But this is just disappointing.

hey i bought this today and for some reason the site to get the stolen ringtone and wallpaper isnt working...wats wrong with it?
 

I thought it was plenty worth it as i only paid 7.51 for it. Why are we all complaining about it, buy it or dont. its that simple.
 

I bought the "deluxe edition" because I didn't have the original copy of Dusk and Summer. I like the CD, and the two additional tracks of Best Deceptions and Ghost of a Good Thing are really really good. But I don't like the radio version of Stolen as much. The slower original version was a lot better. I wish the "deluxe edition" had come with a DVD, like the Unplugged CD instead of a ringtone, you know?
