Need to address the one or ones that don't get the reason for me doing what I am doing. First of all, not bitter about the business. My love and passion continues to grow even now. What I do like is point of views from people. That way I can examine mine, compare, try to assume their way of thinking. Bill Watts once said, there isn't such a thing as a bad idea, just the timing was either wrong or right. When I am trying to create I often search for someone just to bounce things off of. Listen to what they have to say and offer then whatever they have contributed even if not used, it still stirs my mind in a different direction, and often helps me with the idea due to
their thoughts and making me look at it in a different light. Not at any time am I jealous, bitter, or am I placing myself above those I am critiquing. Simply want to point out things that could possibly help them reach a level of performance that we all should strive for. When you quit learning, you should take your boots and tights off and burn them. I still learn everyday, and look forward to that. Believe me, you should hear how I dissect my own work, whether it be now or then. In ring, and out. Fishing, remodeling a home, washing a car taking a shower, or even when I make an ass out of myself, I look to see how, why, I did it and how I could make a bigger ass out of myself. And I look at what I didn't do, either by luck or intelligence. I will not repeat this, now.

I don't mind reading comments but I won't read any more that don't have anything to say constructively or anyone who desires not to identify themselves or at least their pedigree.

Raw
Even a blind hog finds a acorn every now and again. Hate to bring this up, don't want to say it, but I told you so. Last week, said Matt would win ECW belt. He did. Several weeks ago, I even told you where the Shawn and Jericho thing was going. Offered up some ideas and whether by luck or somebody accepting them, they have happened. Jericho's the champ. Didn't think it would happen at Unforgiven and really have a problem with it being done the way it was. I mean come on. Unsanctioned match that leaves him battered, beaten, bruised cut, marked up and left in a puddle flat on his stomach and be dammed if he isn't the one chosen to replace CM Junk.
Adamele, why Jericho? OH I know, just a storyline. Ask Shawn how he feels about it, and the other competitors. But then again, with the athletes today, either their recovery time is in warp speed or the writing is bullshit. After all, CM unable to perform and yet you put Batista against Jericho for your main event tonight and he's obviously/and he even showed the audience how beat up he was by disrobing. So where is your head there? Maybe up your ass?

Mickey James vs Glamazon
Beth, tonight you started out slow, sloppy, and dangerous. Need to get legs under you when you are trying to lift anyone. Injuries happen when picking someone up improperly, and releasing them, improperly. Such as dropping Mickey across top rope, but one of her legs had not cleared your head, which caused her body to twist and unable to take a decent bump on rope or the mat. Then the pitchfork armbar. You need to brace her elbow. When bringing her arm down to your shoulder, need to be closer to hers.. that way you won't break her arm, and she can accentuate the move. All in all damned good match. Mickey James is the firecracker needed. Although Mickey, your level of excitement was much lower tonight. It should have been higher when doing a job. Hold your head up, remember its not real.

Candice Michelle, at ring side for that match. Hopefully just setting up their PPV match. Do I smell something in the works, and God do I hope I'm wrong. We don't need a lesbian relationship. Another one, in this business. Please prove me wrong.

Regal vs Noble.
Well Regal, you got yours back and then some. Again if it had been a street fight, Jamie would have given up in the first thirty seconds. Regal is coming across really well as that rugged competitor. You are able to do things with this featherweight that are really nasty. And Jamie, this looks like the week of destroying relationships as your girl left with Regal. Did anyone really think he could win her heart?

Hell, how about paying for a night? Still come up short. Oops, didn't mean to say that, Jamie.

JBL and Charlie Haas
The chameleon strikes again, and this time he wins. Four minutes on this bs and does anyone think that JBL would pout and walk out of the ring and be counted out? No, he wouldn't. Not unless it was written that way. Again, writers need to consider the character of the talent. And you missed it, this time.

Confrontation with Batista in back was just to set up the main event. Duh, like we can't see that coming.

Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne vs Miz and John Morrison
If you missed this one, you missed the highlight of the year. So far, anyway. Expect to see Evan brought along very quickly. He has all the things that CM lacks, such as Charisma, and the fire, which are needed for a babyface. This was exciting, amazing, and beyond anything I would consider doing in my worst nightmare. The only thing I noticed wrong was John having to wiggle to get in the right spot for the finish. You could have actually done it by selling and rolling, or twisting, or even getting to your feet and being dizzy, falling back down in the right spot. Scooting into place just stinks. Super, loved it.

Orton slaps Dibiase 2. And welcome Manu to the scene. Afa's son. Expect good things.

The six man tag of Cryme Tyme and Kofi against Dibiase, Rhodes, Manu
Might as well try to get some real heat here. Will do an in depth dissection of this tomorrow.

Snitsky vs Santino
This abortion , thank God it lasted one minute, and the only thing saving it, was the Honky Donky meter. Again I smell the Glamazon leaving Santino. Thank God abortions have gotten quicker.

Jericho and JBL against Batista
Adamle, taking the heat for bad writing, and bad match. It is what it is, and Batista , Cena would have beaten them both. Again they close the show without pleasing that last match. The beating down of Batista by JBL and Cade and of course after heat is started baby face makes come back. Trying to leave show on a high note. This show started out like a house on fire, but then wound up smelling like an out-house on fire.

All in all it was still one of the better ones but what would that take? Please read tomorrow night as I will painfully review 6 man.

Jake
Josh...

i wouldnt have called the tag match highlight of the year. While it was a great match, it lacked the emotion and build to make it a classic. However, the hot crowd really pumped up the performances, and enjoyment of the match.

Evan Bourne is a star. His lack of size might stop him from holding the big strap for a fair while. He is yet to prove himself on the mic. Rey's title run wouldnt have happened if he wasnt able to put over soo much emotion in his promo's...

I dont think CM Punk lacks charisma and fire. What he really needs is to add to his move list. The crowd used to pop like crazy for his anaconda vice. He used it again this year(on batista i think?) but the announcers didnt even know what to call it, and the raw fans would not have seen it before so didnt get much reaction. but with a decent built, the move would become credible again. I've never been a fan of the GTS. Punk lost a lot of fan reaction through his losses to John Morrison (more so his clean loss to Johnny Nitro). He hasnt been as 'over' since. I do believe he has the talent to be a headliner for years to come but just needs to be booked properly...

Just some thoughts

Josh

Well as far as the Jericho replacing CM Punk thing goes you can play into it that Jericho got the clean victory over Punk a couple of weeks ago in a non-title match and Jericho deserved to have that spot if anybody did. But of course the WWE doesn't explain this and just throws Jericho into the match.

And you are dead on with that tag match between Rey Mysterio/Evan Bourne and John Morrison/Miz. I remember when tag team wrestling used to be so exciting and great to watch. Heck, I remember when a great team like the Road Warriors could headline a PPV instead of the World Title always having to be there. Can be nice to change it up.

"Bill Watts once said, there isn't such a thing as a bad idea, just the timing was either wrong or right"

I've never thought of it that way, but it makes sense.

Jericho winning the world title after getting the HELL beat out of him makes Punk look weak, since he was unable to compete because of ONE kick. The only thing I see good about this is involving the world belt in the top storyline, but it didnt help Punk at all.

Jake, with wrestling as with any business, people should always be willing to learn from their peers. Even if it is from their mistakes. Some of today's wrestlers overlook that and feel that they are being picked on. Easy to understand when they are insecure with their position and their performance.

You know wrestling inside and out and the fact that you continue to learn and teach others is wonderful. I have no doubt that you love this business wholeheartedly. You have proven that time and again. You are not saying that you know everything but, when it comes to wrestling, you are one of it's greatest assets. Great review once again. I can't wait to see your take on the 6 man. Love ya.

Right on Snake. I think you reviewed this weeks Raw quite accurately. I agree that a lot of those young talents need to work on their selling. As for the botching in the storylines, most of us know that WWE's using of hollywood writers just isn't cutting it. Those guys just don't get the psychology of this sport and yet they're expected to put over a roster with a lot of green performers. And until they get someone in there who does "get it" we are going to continue to witness the blind leading the blind on tv with little improvement on in ring quality.

Good review! I enjoyed it.

I agree with most of your review except for your critique of Bourne and the match. I felt it was too rushed. No one took their time, and there was no consequence for the amazing maneuvers. Maybe you saw something i didn't see, but i saw no selling any most guys part in that match.

As for CM Punk, i think punk has plenty of charisma and is comfortable on the mic. Sure there is room for him to improve, but isn't that true of everyone? I think he has passion for the business and continues to get better.

Outhouse on fire? LOL. I liked that. Once again Jake good job and thank you for taking the time to point out what should/shouldn't be changed. This column is refreshing, so please don't let the haters get you down. Ok, William Regal, like the Pittsburgh Steelers (sorry, cheap hype) can be described in 1 word: SMASHMOUTH. I like Noble, he's cool, but not the best. Charlie Haas Layfield. Great interaction with JBL. Evan Bourne reminds me a LOT of Cody Rhoades. He is awsome. I don't have Sci-fi so this was my 1st seeing him. Just amazing. So is Mysterio. Good to see Kane continues to see Dr. Issac Yankem to keep the snuff out. I like the SERIOUS Chryme Tyme. Manu, from what I saw of him was good. Santino is funny. My 93 year old Grandmother loves when he's on. As far as Snitsky goes, not even Aspen Dental could help him. LOL. I admit I like Mickie and Candice. Granted I'm single, lol, but a lot of the WWE Divas at least seem to TRY. I really like Michelle McCool on Smackdown. As for the Adamle finale on Raw, good gawd. (No offense to DDP). Well take care Jake and thanks again for your insight, it's appreciated.

Jake I don't understand why you seem so hard on c.m. punk. He seems like a real fighter.I guess maybe he's not ready for raw and should of stayed in ECW where he dominated.
I guess you seem critical of punk and haven't throughly explained why?

Bourne and Mysterio were amazing. Plain and simple. This was the ONLY reason to watch Raw last night. I was so happy to see the fast-paced, high-flying style they presented. It seemed that every few seconds was a move I'd never seen before. If that's the direction Raw would take every week, it would keep me watching. Otherwise, it's just 2 hours I could be doing something productive...and just read your blog to know what happened.

hey jake. once again, i agree with pretty much everything you are saying. I am not happy with Jericho being champ, it makes no sense right now. I mean, come on..he hasnt even been back in the wwe long enough to even deserve a shot at the title, imo. by no means am i fond of randy orton, but i actually would have preferred HIM to be Punks replacement, to me it would have made at least a little more sense. although i know its a storyline, i dont agree with it at all..Jericho punching Shawn Michaels wife in the mouth..and it seems to me, that he (in character) is being rewarded for it, somehow, if that makes sense. he hasnt really done anything worthy, in my opinion just yet, to deserve a title shot this quickly.. and for a woman to have been blasted in the mouth, and him to seldom wrestle anyone else other than Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels, that to me, does not qualify him for a championship match, especially one like the scramble. i didnt buy the ppv..glad i didnt now..but ive read the results in various websites, and was not thrilled Jericho was champ, at all. one thing though, i actually thought the Charlie Haas/JBL thing was a little bit more funny then Haas' last couple of wrestler parodies..especially with the what is it, mamajuana..whatever that stuff is that JBL is really selling..slightly comical to me..eh..but him doing this every week, with a different wrestler might get old after awhile..but hey,at least they are actually giving Charlie Haas a chance to shine now,(even if its just in a comical way) and im kind of enjoying it, even if it doesnt last much longer. but i pretty much agree with everything else you said, ESPECIALLY in regards to Jericho.

Another great review! Thank you.

After the last few years of watching WWE rehash the same stuff with different wrestlers, I appreciate the insght you give. I feel like whenever they try a new angle, it falls flat. Bringing back Jericho and put him back where he once was after al that time out of action and to give him a strap this soon? Just my opinion but it makes me feel as if the the newer talent they sign just isn't as strong as they predicted they would be. Since I moved to Geargia a few months ago, I am now closer to the bigger independent wrestling scene and I plan on going as soon as I can. I can honestly say that it would be a better dollar spent watching the newer guys in a small venue give me everything they got rather than blow bigger bucks on a half assed WWE crap shoot.
If anyone knows any indy circuts near southeast Georgia or northeast Florida, please let me know! Thanks!

I appreciate what you started your blog with. The oldtimers I talked to all agree that when two minds come together to work out a match and the ideas are flying, egos out of the way = magic happens. Napoleon Hill Called it a Mastermind Alliance.

Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne vs Miz and John Morrison really enjoyed this. Snug.

I also agree with the Beth Phoenix Pitchfork Armbar. I looked at my wife and said "I think she broke Mickey's wrist" It looked ugly.

I think Mickey was having trust issues with Beth. Mickey has looked better.

The Jericho Fiasco... You covered it well. I always learn something when I read your blogs. either about my perceptions or beliefs or about the business.

I watched Jericho in mexico and Japan before anyone in the US knew who he was.

I grew up arounf Kayfabe so it is great and exciting.

Jake, There is a movie coming out with Mickey Rourke called "The Wrestler". I blogged about it. The story sounds familier my brother.
Any thoughts on that?

If not Jericho, from a heel perspective, then who? Jericho is trying to play the VERY poor man's Ric Flair aka the "whiny bitch" heel role. People love to hate that sh*t. JBL needs a bra, I don't like the strap on Kane, & Orton is still selling his "I got tossed 1/17 of a mile off of my bike" angle (which is approx. what 300 ft. is), so who does it leave in the "RAW Chosen" heel stable to carry the strap? Jericho. I love this review, and honestly I DO skip RAW sometimes and simply read the review only then to decide whether or not it's worth my time to watch it on my DVR. Keep up the great work Jake... there are MANY of us out here who appreciate, look forward to, and enjoy your review every week.

In reply to Jones' reply, he asks if not Jericho, who?
William Regal should have taken that final spot and won the title... It would have made the title prestigeous again, but instead they dropped the ball by giving it to a guy (who ordinarily is deserving) who was supposedly beaten beyond reality, who replaced a guy who was merely kicked in the face... Don't get me wrong, a kick in the face might do him in, but not as bad as the beating Jericho took... So again, it should have gone to the 2008 King of the Ring, William Regal!!!

Jake, thanks once again for your experence and insight. I have to admit that I gave up on watching Raw two years ago. If I see or read about something cool, I go to youtube to see it. I've been spending more time with my library on Monday night's watching you drop Steamboat on the floor with a ddt and such. Then tune in Tuesday or Wednesday to read what I missed on here. But I am left with one question...

How would you have booked the Raw scramble with CM Junk being out of the match?

Have to say this weeks RAW is the first one in a long time that I enjoyed partially (at least to a degree).

I had several issues with CM being champ, first one being that he never won any of the junior belts, like so many before him had to do, especially his size. Second issue being that his title win was portayed as a fluke, so personally I have no issues with Jericho, an established veteran and former champ, taking it off him, even if it happened unexpectedly. However, I strongly suspect that this is just to set up another HBK title run, possibly a tribute to his rumoured retirement.

The backstage segment with Noble was fucking woeful. Match with Regal was better, and had an interesting aftermath, of the kind that will want me to watch next week.

The JBL/CHL segment was entertaining as well as interesting, as above it has the curiosity factor to it. Backstage segment was entertaining too, I reckon JBL has a gimmick change or even face turn in the making here.

Tag match with Rey was good wrestling wise, but I was never a fan of thrown-together tag teams.

Orton talking - interesting thing I noted last week is that Orton was allowed to say 'Raw sucks' in his promo, is this what they call reverse psychology in wrestling? To get a heel to criticise something so that the crowd effectively defends it, regardless if theres truth in it? I fast forwarded this weeks, he talks like a dullcunted politician, and it seemed predictable and longwinded. For someone claiming to be injured he seemed pretty mobile.
Also why did he slap one of those 2 Orton lookalikes at the end, whatever happened to rugged punches and fists?

Following 6 man tag match was good wrestling wise but there was no story behind it. I personally find priceless bland and generic.

Santino v Snitski- Snitski is best described as a somewhat out of shape Warlord. I liked the honk-a-meter thing, I suspect an upcoming/current IC champ will break the record, otherwise they wouldn't be pointing it out.

Main event was a bit of a cop-out. Also vaporizes my earlier suspicion (i.e. hope) that J.B.L would be re-packaged next week. Winning a 2 against 1 is nothing to brag about. I don't see where HBK or CM fit into any of this.

Thanks again to Jake for taking time out for another great review, it's the original reason I ever signed up for myspace, and still the primary.

My issue with Jericho getting the belt is that it is an unnecessary part of his current storyline. The fans are tuning in to see this feud. So why put the title on him right now? Put the title on someone else to give their storyline some credibility and status. Jericho-Michaels is the hot feud right now, and neither one of them has expressed any desire for the championship, just decimating each other. No need for the belt in this mix. Meanwhile, you have a brewing feud between Punk and Orton, revolving around Orton dropping his title a few months back and Punk's alleged undeserved title run. Championship feud in the making. I'm not a huge Orton or Punk fan. I think Orton is usually not entertaining, and I think Punk is in a little over his head as champ. And for the first time in a long time, I have an interest in both competitors to see where this feud goes. But they killed a lot of its momentum by taking the title out of the equation.

Jericho is a top contender who deserves the belt. But you can't force the square peg in the round hole. Give him the belt in '09 after the Michaels feud draws to a close.

Keep it up Jake, thank for your insight. Way better read than the other reviews out there.

I find it hard to believe (well, maybe not that hard) that someone would think you would be doing this out of bitterness or envy. (some people just like to snipe so they think everyone is like that) I have always thought you were one of the best if not the best in ring pyschology, and I have heard that from many others as well, fans and other wrestlers. I think one of the most indelible images I have in my mind from 80's wrestling is a camera shot on WWE tv on the show where you had the cobra bite Randy Savages arm. There was a moment when they were getting him out of the ring and I think you were sitting back in a corner with this look of maybe enjoyment on your face at what was happening. I think it was one of the few moments back then where someone had gotten a crowd riled up to almost riot levels like the original Sheik would do in Detroit. I know I wanted to ring your neck at the time. But is something that I will always remember, because YOU had definitely pulled me in.

I thought the same thing when I saw Mickie James come down the entrance ramp, I even said to my wife, "She knows she is losing and she doesn't like it", pretty funny that you picked up on it as well. Candice kept giggling when ever the camera was on her, I thought that took away from the point of her being there. I also didn't really like the reaction that Layla had when leaving with Regal, it was more confusion that anything, why would she just leave with Regal if she didn't like him? Batista was ridiculously bad, that spine buster is just as telegraphed as HHH's and it always sucks. His no selling is terrible as well, he is probably the one person that makes my TIVO fast forward automatically. Thanks for the great review as always. On a side tangent, regarding the whole scooting into position thing. As I have gotten older I notice that as well more and more and give respect to those who can fall into position rather than scoot. I was watching the Honky Tonk Vs Warrior match from Summerslam the other day and as an older and wiser fan, even in that 30 seconds I saw how much Honky had to help the Warrior out with positioning and everything. Especially for the final splash, and Warriors ridiculous running off the ropes for no reason. Honky was a real pro it seemed and knew how to get into the right postions, because Warrior was a mess when it cam to that. Anyways, just a little perspective and a lot of appreciation for your smart views and an inside look on the art that we love so much.

Jericho's title win doesn't bother me too much. It kind of reminds me of that one Rumble where Flair won by hiding out at the bottom of a corner for virtually the whole match, though he took a lot of abuse during that one. It was fun.

Thought the last two weeks of Raw have been a lot of fun. Not perfect, but a lot better.

Was I wrong to be bothered by the fact that they didn't even pretend to have a reason for Candice to be sitting at ringside during the Beth/Mickie match? It's not like they'd already established her as the 1 contender or anything. She just came down and sat at ringside, acting as the proverbial piece of meat in the butcher's window until the match ended.
What happened to guest commentary?

"why Jericho? OH I know, just a storyline.
Ask Shawn how he feels about it"- Shawn has stated in the past he doesnt want to be champion anymore i dont think it bothers him if he is used to get the right rub on other wrestlers to get what Vince desires,

i expect Rey Mysterio soon be wrestling without a mask,-its a given, rememeber where you heard it first ;)

yes Bourne is good but..how many high flyers make it as a great Baby face?...not many..its all the traditional American lads that get the big Baby face spot, Ric Flair, HHH, HBK, Austin, Rock, Angle, Hogan, Cena etc etc theres a pattern and its been kept for 20years or so....look at how many high flyers have been given that main baby face spot in WWE???......possibly 2 RVD and Rey had stints...i dont think Vince is big on high flyers like Bourne obviously he knows they have an appeal but its not what he aims for. i want high flyers to do well but i dont think Vince is hot on them.

the main event ending was flat! nothing in it no real suspence or final product, 2hours of work for a weak ending is B.S ..Raw episodes usually end fairly decent, but a flat main end is poor and makes the creative team look like there not doing there job correctly or dont understand character development or storylines etc etc,
can anyone see a Evolution like stable being made here? Manu.
Teddy Dibiase,Rhodes?-and i think possibly Psycho Sid? to return?? maybe im dreaming but Manu,Rhodes,Dibiase need a vet in there with them to make it click like Evolution did,

first of all, I dont think you to explain yourself and why you do the things the do. You know who your real fans are. thxs for what you do. Second, your absolutly right, I thought Jerico taking the belt took everything away from the unsanctioned match and the revenge for Shawn. It seemed to erase the whole storyline those two set up. The WWE needs to sell the injuries better or they loose the emotion of the show.

Jake:

Honestly I agree. All the WWE does now a days is make a fairy tale type story line. I guess Vince has forgotten what got him there. The writers now a days just want ideas that make the wrestlers not themselves or please the media. If you 25 again and working WWE is the 2000's you wouldnt be allowed a snake, because PETA would cry and try to sue saying that you where crule to the snake. To prove im write. Lets go back a cpl years ago. Muhamad Hussan was the WWE's best heel in the 2000's, hell I'll say one of the top Heels in the WWE (not F). They hit a sybject that was close to our heart. It drew so much heat that I believe could have been there with SGT Slaughter and having to move an Event like he had to because of snipers. But the WWE is forgeting that. I believe that alot of WWF's storylines could work in the WWE to save it. But the media and activist are trying to ruin Pro Wrestling all because of Steroids, Beniot or whatever Excuse they can find because they dont see the Sport or Art like you do or myself.

Let me know what you think of this....

Is it possible that Punk and others would be better on the mic if writers didn't put bland words in his mouth?

Like you said with JBL walking out on Haas, writers need to consider the character, not just the story. It's like they're using Microsoft WORD templates or Resume Wizards and that crap to speak for human beings.

Art imitates life, and just as civilians become numbers and not people, the pro-wrestlers are becoming numbers as well.

Jake, love the reviews, thank you and take care.

Right on the money, my man. It is very clear that you are not doing this out of malice towards the business, but out of purpose to improve it and make it what it could be. Very refreshing take, too. See, here's the irony of ironies: There are more vets, "True Schoolers" if you will, available and willing to teach but there are so few young guns out there wanting to learn.
It's unreal, but on with the review--

--I know you have never been high on "Jeri-Blow" (your words, not mine, Snake ha ha), but I say he's at his best right now. But there is no train of thought, zero possible way, they can try and make sense how he walks out with the strap. He gets his ass handed to him in the "Unsanctioned Match" (If it's "Unsanctioned", why do u need ring entrances? or referees? or pinfalls? Why not just beat the guy senseless and leave? I guess i'll never understand that one.) , he LOSES that match to Michaels, and yet still has enough in his tank to go out and become the champion and go over 4 of Raw's top draws? It makes HBK look like a damn fool. If he beats a guy down with all he's got, and the guy still gets up then I ask you this: Who's Tough? It's just another example of something I've picked up from you. Pretty solid promo from Jericho, but it came from the aftermath of a dumbass booking.

--Snitsky is a waste of TV time. Should be nowhere near that ring unless he bought a ticket. Hellwig looks like Angle compared to this joke. Shitty match, and yet, the Honk-A-Meter was still funny this week. Honky better show up for the payoff to this angle. Nobody likes a cocktease.

--Evan Bourne is just way too much fun to watch. Has been since the indies when he was good old Matt Sydal. Pairing him with Rey-Rey was brilliant. Miz & Morrison were solid. Probably the best part of the show by a fair margin.

--I'd be lying if I said that I didn't laugh at least a little bit at the "CHL" gimmick. The walkout was silly. Does nothing for Haas, it just the only way he's going over on a top guy is if the top guy leaves early. Does nothing for JBL, it just goes against his gimmick, and ,from what I hear, his shoot personality.

--I've got a problem with how they slapped the "Manu" name on Afa, Jr. If you're pairing him with the 2nd generation boys anyway, why not have him go by his true name? He should be a good time. You can see the feud with him and Umaga a mile away, but i still want to see it.
I really want to see it

--Beth and Candice should be a fun one to continue. At least it has the back story of Beth being the one who put Candice out legit to begin with. Couldn't have come at a better time, her run with Mickie was far beyond done. The matches were solid, there's just nowhere for it to go. Now, we finally get to see who's the breast in the business.

--Regal and Noble is different, to say the least. Its been fun thus far but it's early, hopefully it gets some time to play out.

--The main even was, well, exactly what you said it was. I can't add anything to it.

-- I didn't get to see the 6-man, so I cant have an opinion on it. I'm sure you'll dissect it enough for the both of us, man.
Cant wait to read it--

Hi Jake, great review, you are on the mark, and its a shame you arent involved in the creative process in WWE....
Anyway, I'm sure you know of the retired wrestler Lance Storm, he had great things to say about your DDT...

"I think Jake Roberts’ DDT was one of if not the best finish ever. It was super over, looked very believable, and could be hit on anyone and from anywhere. You could counter it and block it and his set up short arm clothesline allowed him to tease it as well.
"

I agree, best finisher ever.....
Stay well Jake!

By the way Jake, ever thought of doing a question and answer thing on this site like Storm does?
I'm sure lots of people would have questions, and getting answers from yourself would be very cool....

This is for you Jake and for all of our distinguished Four Fathers. I hope you are all in good helth and spirits. I am for ever greatful,,,, and Envious.

Like my mentor, Jim White has said many times. A wrestling match is like a ball room dance. One cant do any thing without the others assistance. There is always a leader and a follower. Although, the lead may switch back and forth. But, with smooth transition's from one to the other, no abrupt cut off's. Let the match flow through you. Set your partner up for a smooth switch and it will look and feel much better.

I cant stand a match that has been scripted. It always seems to have flaws and injuries hampen more often. Because, they are trying to go by memory instead of feel. That is the major problem, I see today. Espically, in the indy's. (Other than, there are way to many boys, in a man's buisness.) But, also in the SHOW, as well. No one is taking the time to put in the work. If I work out with the guy's in the locker room for a while, I will know what they can and can't do, and they will know the same about me. So, when we work, we won't have to call a thing, except maybe the finish and we don't have to call that. I know what he can do, so when it is appropriate, I or he can call that spot. Instead of calling it in the back, and its out of context, time or rushed. Instead of working and feeling your way through and when the time comes, bam! There it is, nice and smooth.

Wrestling is a Highway! By, Jamie Stone

"I see a match as a highway. A highway, with turns and stops at different places. Which one to take and when? 75 mph here 55 mph there. Speed up, slow down, stop and proceed with caution. For every action, there is a reaction. When I do this. You do that. When you do that. I do this. Nice and easy, with care and a calmness. At times it will be very light, as the other puts it over the top. Then, it will be violent and physical, as the other knowing how to take it without getting hurt, lays jerking and quivering on the mat. Listening to the roar and silence as you minnipulate each, with every slight and methodical jesture. Like a mystro conducting a symphony. And when the time is right, either at the top or the bottom, with an unforseen ending that will get the desired affect, the finish.
"

The biz needs more teachers who know the Art of Wrestling. It will never be like it was, but maybe, just maybe, it can still BE. The only hope I can see, is to resort back to the old days, rebuild the teratories or start new ones and regain respectability in the eyes of the fans. For the Indy's. Maybe, you Vince could repay a debt to the old woman who put you where you are now and at least try to rebuild her by maybe setting up teratories in which the main champion would travel to them at least once a year and defend the title to the teratory champ. Sounds familier huh? Have only one mother and the rest branches. With, local TV and sponcers. With talent spread out through the teratories. Wow, it sounds crazy enough to work. It did before. But, to be honest, between the athletic comission's and the lack of suitable venues, and the lack of training, wrestling will die out, with the wrestling fan. What a sad day that will be. Shame on you Vince, shame on you.
For, her blood is on your hands

The territories fell because they had no star power, and fewer workers. The promoters were very complacent. Vince isn't at fault. I would go as far to say that there are very few good workers because of the fall of the territory system, but the other way around. The territories fell because of the lack of good workers.

WHat's at fault isn't the lack of territories. I see it as being a more fundamental problem. It's lack of respect. Guys today, with a few exceptions, aren't treating it as an artform. They aren't trying to learn everything that they can about it. How many stories have you heard of the young kids not taking or even trying to get advice from the vets. It's the same reason that hollywood is out of ideas. It's because the ideas that permeate this country are terrible. I understand the sentiment of Bill Watts, but he's wrong, there are bad ideas (i.e.
communism, nazism, Gigli)

Wrestling is a form of storytelling. If hollywood isn't doing a good job with it, you expect the wrestling business to be immune.

Wrestling will never die.
Ever!

I personally thought the bit Charlie Haas did was hilarious, but I fully expected Bradshaw to put a legit beatdown on him afterward. I don't understand the walk-off by JBL at all. I guess supposed to be frustrated or whatever but it kills his character.

I think the whole Raw world title has been (on purpose) diluted since the draft. The reason? The message? Raw isn't Raw, and the World title isn't a World title unless Triple H has it. Triple H moves to Smackdown with a victory over Raw's top guy at the time, Cena. Since then he remains champ. Raw gets the world title back with a fluke/cheap win over Edge (who in my opnion is the first person to rejevunat interest in Smackdown since Eddie's passing). Sorry Edge, son-in-laws get the nod when only one person can be champeen on the show. Raw then attempts to build a following for a face, straight edge, no short cuts hard worker.....who gets the title by pinning a guy that was just beat up by Batista. How many times did you see Austin,Bret, or the Rock get wins like that when they were being pushed as a face? Then for several weeks CM continues until we can replace him with another fluke win by Jericho. If CM's win was fair and square, why is Jericho's any less legitimate? The fact is folks, both title wins suck and this is all later stages WCW material that was ripped apart years ago by the critics. You can't even savour the HBK win long enough before Jericho wins the world title. Moral of the story is kids, let the Clique get their wins and move on to other greener pastures in return you will be granted (bogus) title reigns in return.
CM punk was a world champion and Jake the Snake Roberts never was? To quote Gorilla Monsoon, "Give me a break"

really good reveiws

my thoughts on john cena i that he is one of the worst wrestler iv ever seen
he is no Bret Hart in the ring, but he is getting better

I think the WWE gave him the belt way to fast i reckon the WWE was just looking a fast money make with Cenas look rather than wrestling skills

Batista is also getting better he stills looks very stiff in the ring compared to Goldberg
Brock Lensar .
For a big strong guy Brock impressed me hes very fast and can match Kurt Angel theres not many bit guys that can do that
