I've been working on my application to the
IN:Camera Workshop associated with the
Herland Film & Video Festival (first mentioned in my
Director's Eye post).
Submission Requirements:
1) Letter of Intent (why this would be beneficial to you).
2) Resume that includes any relevant experience you may have.
3) Maximum one-page concept (idea) for a 2-3 minute film.
I haven't even started on my letter of intent yet, but I've been working on my resume and my one-page concept.
For the one-page concept, I started by reviewing some articles on treatments. The most helpful online sources about treatments that I found were:
Proper TreatmentWhat is a Treatment? But since the submission isn't specifically asking for a treatment, I went back over my notes from Sandi's Grant Writing Workshop that was part of my 16mm Film School. I decided to go with log line, a synopsis and a brief description of my artistic treatment of the piece (in some order). I hope that's somewhat in line with what they're looking for.
I still need to start on my letter of intent. I think that's going to be the hardest bit, which is probably why I'm procrastinating. Can't procrastinate too long though, since it's due at the end of next week. Yikes!
