So it seems like no time at all since i was writing about selling one million albums, well as this title suggests i'm now writing about 2 million albums!!

I cannot believe that over 2 million people own my CD it's been such great news just before christmas!!

The past week has been very busy, not in terms of work, but with Christmas shopping!! it's doing my nut in! ;-) I'm still trying to get some presents but don't know what to buy.
I went into town today to try and get some more and ended up buying myself stuff instead :-(

On saturday morning i drove up to Aberdeen to watch Falkirk v Aberdeen. It was bloody freezing and soaking, and poor falkirk got beat but at least my Stevie scored ;-)
On Saturday night i went out with my friends Leighann and Kelly to see Primal Scream, we ended up back at Kelly's house watching a cooking programme that Leighanns dad was on a few weeks ago.
it's so funny to think i'm probably on TV every day, yet i was so excited to see him cooking on telly!
We are a sad bunch, Kelly had fallen asleep whilst me and Leighann were watching cooking shows at 2am :-) who says rock and roll is dead?

On Sunday i was feeling a bit yucky, too much cider ;-)
So i didn't move all day. Stevie and i watched about 10 episodes of heroes in a row. It's my new favourite show! So exciting.

So 2moro i'm heading down to Newcastle for my rescheduled gig. Hopefully it'll be a great night, the geordies are always a great audience!!

I'm too old to be your boyfriend, besides you already have a good one. You already have wonderful parents, their daughter proves that and I'm sure that you have great grand parents, too. You can never have enough uncles, though, and if you ever want another, I volunteer. I just wanted to say, I love your music and your humanity, You're just GREAT!!! Thanks for a great year of music. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. ..

Not surprised with the 2 million number, I'm sure that will double once it catches fire in the US. Patiently waiting for your tour to Washington State, Puget Sound area. Don't hurry, take your time and stay healthy.

Maybe I (well, nearly) was the 2 millioth buyer? :D My godfather just bought me your CD yesterday, I'm gonna get it for Christmas, can't wait for it!
Have fun in Newcastle, and don't worry 'bout the Christmas shopping, I haven't bought all the presents either. :P
(Well, it's not related to this, but it would be fun if I'd see you while shopping...I would immediately ask for autographs or just talk for a minute. :D)

Cider? of course.. ;-)

That's one of the best things I know, hanging out with friends and relaxing on a sunday with a boyfriend!

Made me smile when you say you ended up buying stuff for yourself, happens to me as well. I will probably do everything last day totally stressed, as each year :-)

Congrats on your over-2million CDs sold!! Does this include the deluxe edition as well? I don't think so, then have to imagine all the people like me who own both CDs, even more to count :-)

Have a great week!

This Is The Life will be going for adds next january in the U.S., what a great idea if it is true!

Probably the UMG will be doing them, I guess. Nashville would love her, also the Dallas, Fort Worth area. Seattle, of course or better yet Olympia or Everett WA., Vancouver B. C. too if she came to WA. I can think of 50 cities where she would do well, if not GREAT.

In a Scottish interview the interviewer said her music sounded a little Country and Western, he probably forgot that it was the Scots and Scots Irish who brought C&W to the New World.

I think I have seen everyone of your interviews on, "youtube", and you come across very well, I almost enjoy your interviews as much as your music. You are a GREAT Ambassador for Scotland, (I think the Ministry for tourism should pay you to tour), and a tribute to your parents. I've even thought of visiting the home of my Scottish ancestors.

Your have barely brushed the surface here in the US, a tour or two from now you should be, as one of your Scottish interviewers said, HUGE. The South, especially Texas is Scottish country and of course, Western Washington State, where we have many Highland Games and Festivals. Of course your music transcends borders and languages. Your debut album may be getting old to you but it is fresh and new here. Many people who I talk to recognize your name now when I mention it. Beside my album I bought one for each of my granddaughters, ones in storage though, she's only two.

I've noticed in your 2008 , Poison Prince" and your L.A. album that you're smiling more, I think you are becoming more confident and having more fun, keep it fun, don't wear yourself out. Last but not least, besides your music and interviews it's that big SMILE and your, "Thank You Very Much" at the end of your songs, that does it for me, just too cool.

Once again,
Happy Holidays

Clarification, it's the CD that is in storage, NOT my two year old granddaughter!

Also I just thught of a good Scottish tourism add. Where Paul Hogan in his Australian adds would say, "G'day mate", Amy could say in her "WONDERFUL" Scottish accent, "Thank you very much"

Rock and Roll has been waiting for the, "Amy Macdonald Band", it needed to get back to it's roots. That little, "COUNTRY" sound that you hear in some of their music, was there at the beginning of R&R. Elvis Pressley, The Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Sonny James and many more, all had COUNTRY roots and were either SCOTS/SCOTS IRISH or wish they were.....I just want to wish Amy and the band another Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, they certainly made my last year a Happy One ):

No wonder you got two millions so quick, I did buy your album after you'd reached the million, so ! Guess a lot of people said "Now wait, this Amy MacDonald, I think I should get the last album NOW". It's really nice, I love your sound, so does the rest of us I guess. It's also nice to see there's still room for real artists in this world, there's hope, there's hope ;-) Okay, Merry XMas, and forget cider,it's gonna make you sick, what about some Glenfiddish instead ? :-P

Great show at the Barrowlands Amy. You and the rest of the band sounded amazing considering you've played 104 gigs this year! You looked gorgeous as well, really dug the tartan santa hat :-)

It was great to hear "Fairytale of New York", I (dare I say it) preferred it to the original...maybe cos I could understand the Shane MacGowan parts properly!

Have a great Christmas and continued success in 2009

Congratulations to you. The album sounds great and i think you, and your group, have been working hard to get this succes, so it seems that if you work for something you will be rewarded at the end.
I saw your appearence on the Belgian television to promote MNM, the new radiostation, that was well done also ... i live in Belgium that's why i could see this publicity.

I recently traced my ancestry to Lochwinnoch, Amy, I noticed on the map that it's not far from Bishopbriggs. Who knows, we could be distant cousins. I have a suspicion, though, that my ancestors were part of the Highland Clearances. I'm still researching, maybe another fan can post a place in Lochwinnoch where I can get info, I tried the villiage website and didn't get a reply.

When will you be touring the USA? A friend I met online that lives in Scotland sent me one song of yours and then I bought you CD, "This Is The Life". I really like your music so much that the CD remains in my pickup CD Player. Your music is kind of similar (in my view) to Gordon Lightfoot, a Canadian musician. So far on my last FM profile page, your in fourth place.

I recently bumped into you while wondering around aimlessly on the net looking for something new, different, and exciting to listen to. I am in awe over your sound. I worked in radio for about 11 years as a DJ and I'm kind of 'commercialed' out, and it is a huge challenge trying to find something different that's good. Thank you very much for bringing back the meaning to the word 'artist'. I will promptly head out and buy a CD.
