..
.. Hello there,

Well first of all i have to say Happy New Year! I haven't written a blog in ages, i'm sorry.
So New Year was spent up in Aberdeen where i was headlining the Hogmanay Street Party. It was a great laugh and so well organised. I thought the crowd were amazing and myself and my band had a great time.

So as you can tell from the title i was in Milan over the weekend. I say over the weekend but it really was a whistle stop visit. I flew to London on Saturday night, then to Milan at the crack of dawn Sunday, then back to London at 3pm and back to Glasgow yesterday evening. I do have to wade into the war about Heathrow as i'm there so bloody often. Heathrow either needs a new runway or they have to get rid of a huge nuber of flights. The place is far too busy to cope. Last night on my flight home we sat on the runway waiting to take off for over an hour. This doesn't just inconvience the people flying it's also a pain for the people waiting to pick them up at the other side as once the doors of the plane are closed you can't use your mobile and have no way of letting them know you're going to be late. what a nightmare.

This pretty much happens to me everytime i fly from Heathrow and with the horrible credit crunch doom and gloom then i think the best thing to do is expand the airport and try to boost the economy. Ok thats my first rant over :-)

So Milan was great, the Italian label are all really lovely and have worked so hard over the past year. This is the Life is now the 4th most played song on Italian radio and it continues to grow :-)

So before i went to Milan i was at Ibrox for the Rangers v Falkirk game.
I was running late before the game but i had such a strong feeling that Stevie was going to be first to score so i had to put a bet on. I decided that my feeling was quite a strong one and i would put £100 on him to score first i also put £25 on him to score full stop. So 12 minutes into the game with Ibrox in silence i was the happiest person in the world. Not only did Stevie score but he scored first which meant i collected a nice £1600 :-)
I only wish i also put a bet on the referee leaving his glasses at home because i could have doubled my money!! ;-)

So things continue to do incredibly well for me with Germany approaching 700,000 albums sold. It looks like Germany is going to overtake the UK for the country where i have most success :-) It's absolutely mad but i love it, for one my favourite company in the world, Audi, are German and i'm sure it only bodes well for freebies and stuff in the future ;-) I'm such a chancer!
Also the German label are amazing and myself and the band all love spending time over there, we always have a great laugh.

So as i've not written in a while i should probably fil you in. Over the past few weeks i've been writing a few songs, sleeping ALOT and watching COME DINE WITH ME! It is possibly the best programme in the world. I can't cook for shite but still really enjoy watching this programme. Stevie hates it as the whole sky plus box is filled with episodes of Come dine with me!

Today i woke up quite early and cleaned the house from top to bottom, that took it out of me a bit so i went for a 2 hour nap ;-)
I'm now writing this and after i'm gonna pop to Marks and Spencer and get something tasty for dinner.

So i shall see you soon.

x

Thoroughly enjoyable blog. Yes Heathrow does need to do something and soon. You have certainly been incredibly busy, so you must now relax and chill out while you can. Good to hear you've been doing housework today just as I have, us girls have to catch up on the mundane yet necessary so much within our busy lives. Hope you enjoy your dinner? Take care. TTFn Suzi

Well, while you were busy I decided to show my appreciation for the happiness your music has given me in 2008, I hope this in some small way will repay you for the joy!....To Amy,....Our beloved Scottish troubadour, ..who would not be kept in a bottle. ..Our heart and soul of Scotland, ..Our personal Caledonia. ..The Mom in a band of big brothers, ..With courage to fill out a form, ..On the back of a magazine,..Not too out of the Norm?.. ..I can't say enough about her ..That gutsy little lass from the Isle, ..She's been a highlight of my 2008,..and in 2009 she'll escalate,..I'll keep my wits about me, though..Fasten my seat belt and watch her fly. ..The sky is not a limit here, ..it need not apply.....Thanks, Amy....Derek, "may you have fair winds and following seas"

I know, flying by plane now it's impossible. Italy has just sold the Alitalia and in every Italian airport all travellers don't know what to do. I always listen to the news and a lot of reportage are telling a lot of travellers are living into the airport because the planes can't fly because the Alitalia workers are striking. I watched travellers on TV some days ago who were sleeping in airport, who were very angry and who went around the airport to look for some information. I understand the Alitalia workers, they are doing that because they don't want to lose their job but all travellers are angry the same. ..It's true I always watch your video on TV and to listen to your song to the radio and it's very beautiful. In Italy it's not difficult to watch or to listen to your song. On first January I watched you concert on TV but I don't remember where you were. It was three o'clock at night and I had just turned on the TV so I could see you concert, it was great. ..I can't cook too but I love eating and when I go out with my friends we always go to look for a nice restaurants where we eat good things. Here in La Spezia there are a lot of nice restaurants some near the sea or into the country and all them cook good things. My uncle is the best cook in the world and every Saturdays, when I go my mother's home, he cooks for all my family and he always cooks good things. I'm not like my uncle I can't cook. My fridge is always empty or full of precooked food, it's easy and very fast to cook. ..See you soon...Marco
