Hello there,
Well first of all i have to say Happy New Year! I haven't written a blog in ages, i'm sorry. So
New Year was spent up in Aberdeen where i was headlining the Hogmanay
Street Party. It was a great laugh and so well organised. I thought the
crowd were amazing and myself and my band had a great time.
So
as you can tell from the title i was in Milan over the weekend. I say
over the weekend but it really was a whistle stop visit. I flew to
London on Saturday night, then to Milan at the crack of dawn Sunday,
then back to London at 3pm and back to Glasgow yesterday evening. I do
have to wade into the war about Heathrow as i'm there so bloody often.
Heathrow either needs a new runway or they have to get rid of a huge
nuber of flights. The place is far too busy to cope. Last night on my
flight home we sat on the runway waiting to take off for over an hour.
This doesn't just inconvience the people flying it's also a pain for
the people waiting to pick them up at the other side as once the doors
of the plane are closed you can't use your mobile and have no way of
letting them know you're going to be late. what a nightmare.
This
pretty much happens to me everytime i fly from Heathrow and with the
horrible credit crunch doom and gloom then i think the best thing to do
is expand the airport and try to boost the economy. Ok thats my first
rant over :-)
So Milan was great, the Italian label are all
really lovely and have worked so hard over the past year. This is the
Life is now the 4th most played song on Italian radio and it continues
to grow :-)
So before i went to Milan i was at Ibrox for the Rangers v Falkirk game. I
was running late before the game but i had such a strong feeling that
Stevie was going to be first to score so i had to put a bet on. I
decided that my feeling was quite a strong one and i would put £100 on
him to score first i also put £25 on him to score full stop. So 12
minutes into the game with Ibrox in silence i was the happiest person
in the world. Not only did Stevie score but he scored first which meant
i collected a nice £1600 :-) I only wish i also put a bet on the referee leaving his glasses at home because i could have doubled my money!! ;-)
So
things continue to do incredibly well for me with Germany approaching
700,000 albums sold. It looks like Germany is going to overtake the UK
for the country where i have most success :-) It's absolutely mad but i
love it, for one my favourite company in the world, Audi, are German
and i'm sure it only bodes well for freebies and stuff in the future
;-) I'm such a chancer! Also the German label are amazing and myself and the band all love spending time over there, we always have a great laugh.
So
as i've not written in a while i should probably fil you in. Over the
past few weeks i've been writing a few songs, sleeping ALOT and
watching COME DINE WITH ME! It is possibly the best programme in the
world. I can't cook for shite but still really enjoy watching this
programme. Stevie hates it as the whole sky plus box is filled with
episodes of Come dine with me!
Today i woke up quite early and
cleaned the house from top to bottom, that took it out of me a bit so i
went for a 2 hour nap ;-) I'm now writing this and after i'm gonna pop to Marks and Spencer and get something tasty for dinner.
So i shall see you soon.
