Greetings,

There have been some inquiries as of late brought to my attention about the usage of the name 'Draven' in my work. Now, before I ever even used it, I did a little deducing of my own. First off, it's hard to copyright a last name used by a character, say 'Eric Draven.' Now, it is definitely possible to hold rights over the entire name such as 'Eric Draven.' But if someone were to make a character and name them 'Richard Theodore Draven' or even simply 'Draven' it's legit. So, that is one point in my favor. Then I did a little search on Google which turned up this:

Thousands of entities use this name, but to go a bit further I sent an email to James O'Barr's staff via his myspace and received this answer:

"******:

To my knowledge, James does not own the rights to the last name Draven. It's an old Scottish name, from what I've found. Hope that helps!

~*******
the Crow's Little Helper"

So there you have it, the name is fair game. >:)

Stay Evil,

~D
