We had a triumphant return to Europe with our first concert appearance since 1990. Stuttgart rocked! Thanks to our German fans.
Stockholm, Sweden tonight!

It appears we have 'hit the wall' with The Bossa Project ... I have used all my resources as far as contacting people who might want to know this CD is out.
I would be grateful if any one out there feels strongly enough about this small project to spread the word and the link : www.cdbaby.com/robertlamm8

CHI's current lineup is so very strong, it'll be strange to revert back! Everyone is thrilled and having a lovely tour.

Thank you for the update Robert. Glad to know you are having a great time and the band is being well received. No surprise from my viewpoint!
I'm sure it will continue for the rest of the tour.

I will be happy to spread the word, and share the link, for The Bossa Project, it is truly one of my favorites!

Cheers, Sheri

I have to echo Kelli's comments. Reading the newly revived forum on chicagothegand.com, there is clearly a core group of fans there that is thrilled to see the band touring Europe. I remember your comments about this and the Japan tour at Convention. Glad you decided to push for the travel!

As for The Bossa Project, I'll do anything I can to help. It's fabulous!

Enjoy the rest of your trip. We're looking forward to your triumphant US return and August shows!

Congrats on the start of a successful tour in Europe, Robert. I know from your statements at the convention that you were the prime motivator for this to happen and you should be thrilled that it's coming to pass.

I'll definitely help spread the word about the Bossa Project. The Philadelphia area radio stations who like to play new and different things, so I'll start there. The Bossa Project is a pleasant CD to listen to and it shows another dimension to your creativity and vocal talents.

I'm sure you've read the comments about the current line-up on the various message boards, but you should know better than any of us what works best for the band. It is strong and I've enjoyed it.

I'm sure the rest of the tour will be as thrilling for you as it has been so far.

So happy to hear the EU tour is going spendidly! But I didn't have any doubt that it wouldn't - there are way too many European fans that love Chicago and have been waiting for a very long time to see and hear you all perform live again! Keep up the great work as you guys always do.

I look forward to seeing you back in the US in September and am in great hopes that you'll leave WUS, In the Mood and SOS in the current line-up. What a fantastic treat to hear them performed live in Cleveland last week - it had been over 30 years since I heard you sing "Wake Up Sunshine" live and I could hardly contain myself. Loved it and had a fantastic time, despite the humidity!

Enjoy the rest of your time in Europe and stay safe on the return home!

Mr. Lamm,

I will do the most obvious thing: I'm buying a copy for a friend of mine who lost bossa nova. Can't get much better than that.

Also, I have reviewed your CD on my blog. Here is the Bossa review: http://scottdparker.blogspot.com/2008/06/music-review-bossa-project-by-robert.html

I also reviewed Stone of Sisyphus: http://scottdparker.blogspot.com/2008/06/music-review-stone-of-sisyphus-by.html

Other than that, I'll kept the fire burning and make sure I play The Bossa Project just loud enough at work to where folks stop by and ask "Who is that?"

Thank you for your continued great work.

The European tour is no surprise.... you are missed across the pond and in Japan. "Triumphant" is an excellent word. Nothing pleases me more than to have this confirmed..... Wish I could have flown over to join you guys!

As for Bossa...... well, you KNOW how I feel about this one. I'll get on it and see what I can do to help, also. It is just so spectacular; it's a side of you that needs to be promoted on a much more active basis. We will all see what we can do to share the love and joy that this new project has brought to us.

Congratulations to you and the band on such a successful tour :) Can't wait to see you back stateside, though.... it's a very selfish statement, and I'm standing by it!

Hello Robert, (please hydrate...smile)

...don't know if you want to be bothered with this...just wondering if there is someone I can contact/connect with in regards to start a merchandise line for The Bossa Project...the colors would be wonderful in a shirt, key chain etc...anyone "out in myspace land" have any ideas? This might help in marketing BP...

my email: dmj2353@yahoo.com

Thanks....

So nice to hear from you....Just last night I was watching the Leap of Faith DVD for the zillionth time...

I'm so happy to hear y'all are having a fabulous time in Europe. I'm not surprised AT ALL to hear of the warm welcome back the band has received. Those of us here in the US who get to see y'all several times per year are so (gratefully) spoiled.

As for The Bossa Project, I'm not sure what I can do, but I'll meditate on it. I've already bought two copies, but come to think of it, my mother's birthday is coming up...One of the few things we have in common is our love of Chicago...

Safe travels to you and the rest of the crew....Melinda

Hello Robert,

...oops...sorry...found the answer to my question about SOS...must have missed this section when reading the pamphlet with the SOS cd...for anyone interested...Sisyphus was a mythological character who (according to the story in the pamphlet) "was cursed to roll a huge stone up a hill, only to have it roll back down just before reaching the pinnacle." This story in some ways relates to the album when it was produced..."instead of ascending it rolled back down"...I'm glad it rolled back up again and is sitting at the top!(smile) Wonderful comment by Walter...I listen to this song over and over...love what the lyrics have to say...

LOL

I was shocked to read you "notes" on CTA message.... WP and JP!!!! I understand priorities.. But that there has seemed to be a "non core" Lineup....
As long as I have You, Lee, Bill and Jason.... I'll be at many more shows.
Thank you for your time and the time from your family, to us, your fans!

Robert, thanks so much for the London show. We were very close to the front and the atmosphere was electric - there were so many people so happy to be there, and there was a real feeling of triumph. Despite Jimmy & Walter's absence, we were just thrilled to be there, and could tell you were all having a great time too. Their stand-ins were absolutely amazing, and to be honest if no-one had told us they weren't Jimmy & Walter, we wouldn't have noticed. What a tremendous show - please hurry back!

Thanks,
TGFs.

Hope that the rest of the tour felt like this for you, I'm sure it was!
I've been to the concert in Londen, I live in Holland, but was on holliday with my family in Spain. My husband and I left our two children and our two dogs over there and took a flight to Londen to see Chicago.
And it was really worth while, I'm so glad to have heard Chicago for real this time. Since I was twelve I'm a big fan of the band and the music influenced me in a lot what kind of music 'I'm into'.
I regret that Walter Parazaider and James Pankow weren't there, though the two man that took their place where fantastic.
The way the band performed was really professional and impressing. How you stand there mr. Lamm, is also good to see and hear. You're voice is great and you do possess charisma over there on stage!
During the concert we were surrounded by Irish fans who sang every bit of the music they heard, even the instrumental parts (paparaapaparaa)! That was funny.
After the concert it was an experience to walk with a lot of the public to the train and to hear everybody sing Chicago songs!
Hope to see Chicago in Europe again! Maybe at North Sea Jazz in Holland (Rotterdam) or something like that??
Thanks anyway for the European tour!!! Greetings from Holland, Hella

Hey Robert!
Just want to thank YOU (again) ! for the outstanding concert in Paris. So happy to talk to you in person for a few minutes!
Being a really 'old' fan (from 1968) this was a highlight in my life. Seeing the band again after 10 years (and also in 1969 in Amsterdam) and seeing and HEARING YOU sing all the 'golden oldies' and "Wake Up Sunshine as well! Never thought I'd hear 'I'm a Man' and 'Make Me Smile' again 'LIVE'...I will never forget this 'HOT' night in Paris, July 29, 2008.
Hope you all will come back soon, as you promised us in Paris, that night!

Hopefully I'll manage to go to CA, Las Vegas to see CHICAGO again this year!
Thankx again for ALL the music!
Ingrid
