Greetings all from your ne'erdowell musician type friends here at Macon Greyson.

..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

SAD ANNOUNCEMENT…… BADGER IS MOVING ON IN 2008.

It is with sadness that we must report that our friend and longtime member of Macon Greyson, Badger is leaving the band.  He is going to pursue a life outside of music and we want to wish him the best.  Because he is not an ostentatious person he didn't want us to make a real big deal of this, but we think his years of hard work and talent are worthy of praise and recognition.  He has been the drummer, the bass player and a songwriter in this band, but most importantly a friend and brother-in-arms.  We salute you Badger!  You will be missed.

Leave a comment on this blog if you want to say something to Badger as he embarks on the next phase of his life....

I've only been following you guys for a couple of years, but it's been great watching you as both the bass player and the dummer. You brought a lot of energy, and I'll certainly miss seeing you.

In March of 2001, we attended the KHYI Texas Music Revolution at Southfork Ranch. It was to be our first of MANY shows to see Macon Greyson captivate us with their musical talents, lyrical brilliance, and darn entertaining stage maneuvers. well, over all, the band really was not super unique to watch, except for that quirky bass player. We thought bass players were to stand there sort of stagnant, and casually pluck those strings. But no one had told Badger that. He was SO much fun to watch, that admittedly, after their set, we decided we just HAD to see them again, just to watch that dude with the bass. Years went by, and we got to know this little band from Dallas, road tripped a few times to see them, and are proud to call them all our friends. Then, 2 years ago, Pete left as drummer, and Badger stepped up to the drum kit. While we would miss his "show" as bass player, his ability, and entertainment level as the bands drummer was top notch.

And now, we hear Badger is moving on, and I admit, it is breaking my heart. While I of course wish ALL the best to Badger, and understand that life on the road, living out of a van, sleeping in hotel rooms night after night with men who often forget to shower, and eating food out of paper wrappers gets old, I want Badger to know..................................

......................... that if he does not come out to a show once and awhile to visit us, I will hunt him down, pop Rosie O'Donnell videos in a player, and tie him to a chair making him watch them for hours at a time!

Badger, we love you, and wish you ALL the best in what ever you do. And I'm not kidding, we WILL hunt you down. Waco is just not that big!

I am so saddened to hear that you are leaving the band. I have so many great memories of you. The times you crashed on our couch....the time I crashed on yours...All of the fun times. I will miss all of our talks. You are truly a great person. I wish you the best in your new adventures. May life bring you the fulfillment that you seek. Your shoes and savy style will be hard to fill! I have never laughed as much with anyone as I have with you all. I will truly miss you...............so will the camels. If you are ever in town, my home is always open. LOVE YOU!!!!

badger was the person who inspired me to start playing bass. he also inspired me to buy a drumset. i can honestly say if i had never seen yall play at sons of herman hall four years ago,i would not be a musician. i will miss talking to him before the shows and its gonna break my moms heart to know he's leaving the band.

Wow! What can I say, you truly are a kick ass musician and a kickass person! You brought a lot of energy to Macon Greyson! I have enjoyed your head banging, long hair swinging bass playing (my fav) to your pounding of the drums and cowbell skills ;-) to the humor & discussions we all shared. Such great times with such great, genuwine people! I really love you guys, ya'll are all really awesome and so talented and we all will morn this loss to the band, it really will not be the same with you Badger! I wish you the BEST Badger in whatever it is that you do in your life! It was a great pleasure knowing you! Have fun, rock on, and peace & love!!

I just heard that you have left MG:( I am very sad to hear this, but I wish you the very very best in whatever you pursue. If you put into that the energy and passion you put into the bass and drums I am sure you will be a huge success!! the new guy will have a big void to fill. Love, Peace and Adventure!

Badger my friend, I wish you all the best. I know it just won't be the same without you around. I hope you find true happiness in whatever you choose to do, but I can't help but want to kick your ass for being such a selfish prick and not thinking of me first. Here I've been training 3x's a day for the past 6 months preparing to be the Drunken Footrace Champion of the World only to find out that the one and only competitor in the rest of the world has retired!! I hate being the winner by default. I didn't read anything about when your departure will be final, but hopefully it won't be before you guys make it back to Amarillo. Anyway...All the best my friend.

Badger...

Sniff sniff. It won't be the same without you. You'll still have to come to the Luau and hang out with everyone.

You will be greatly missed!

Badger,

You will be missed my friend, look at all these great things that people have said. You are loved and are irreplaceable. It was an honor to share the stage with you and all those after hour antics. It seems like it was just yesterday that I first saw you playing bass, head-banging and just rocking balls at Jovita's. Take care my brother and good luck in whatever comes your way.

Juan and the rest of The Century, Black Water Gospel, or whatever name we choose that day.

In all seriousness, I am hurting in my heart. Badger, man, how do I say this without sounding like a pussy??? I am gonna miss you something ferocious and will never forget you ... Good luck down the road and if you ever get lonesome for Jager shots and crazed-groupie behavior, you know how to find me
