Sad News for Bog Shed fans.

I have to announce the death of Tristan King, Bog Shed's baby faced teenage drummer at the far too premature age of 42.

Suffering from a brain tumour, he died peacefully in his sleep on the 21st December 2008.
I hope to get something released as a tribute to him..he went on to make records with various bands after Bog Shed and produced many hours of his own material in the past 20 years.

really terrible news about Tris and he will be missed.

I had the pleasure of knowing him from going to many Bog Shed shows and putting them on myself in lancaster. Later when I lived in manchester, we would spend quality time in the pub together.

he was a fantastic musician and a good soul. To his family and friends i would like to wish them strength and courage in these times.

To lose someone so talented at such an early age is absolutely dreadful news indeed.....
Please pass on our sincere condolences to all ex-members of Bog Shed and, of course, to the King family.

I am very, very saddened to hear of this. Although I never had the good fortune to see him perform live, he brought me great happiness through the records, as I'm sure he did to so many others who never got the chance to meet him personally.

My sincere sympathies to his friends and family.

I was lucky enough to have Tris drum for A Witness for a brief spell, cut short unfortunately by the death of our guitarist Rick, but he was a good guy and a great drummer. We knew that from his work with Bogshed, where he really established his reputation as a class act.

Our final songs with Rick and Tris - I Love You, Mr Disposable Razors, Tomorrow Never Knows and Break On Through - have a special place in my heart, and Keith and I were very sad to hear Tris was ill.. even sadder to hear this news. Our sympathies and respect to families and friends on the loss of a good man, and, albeit briefly, one of ours.

very sad news...the good often die far too young...its one mixed up world, especially at the moment it seems...im very pleased to have had the music of bog shed in my life...its spirit of freedom and anarchy has been a great inspiration that i carry with me always...in my mind and in my bottom of the range mp3 player...i hope we all keep our creativity, humanity, positivity and humour for the rest of our lives, however long we have and whatever happens in this messed up world.

Tris was a great drummer, full of energy and originality and I was honoured to see Bogshed 5 times live in London, the last of these at the old Town and Country in Kentish Town in 1987.

Terrible news. I've only just heard. And strange because just this morning I was looking at pictures of Bogshed for the first time in ages and remembering the good times.

My thoughts go to his family and friends. I'll never forget his unique contribution to one of my favourite bands.
