What's file
size
dimensions should a video be for optimal resolution? I thought it was 320x240, but it looks more like 427x320. The only problem is that it's hard to compress video in formats other than 320x240 or 640x480. What do you suggest?

you can use Cleaner to stream it again
or remake it in your editing program (Final Cut, Premiere or Avid, Imovie...) and Save As (LAN/High or medium) QuickTime

Ways to reduce your file
size
:
1. Reduce the resolution.
2. Reduce the frame rate.
3. Increase the key frame rate
4. Change the compressor.

Instead of little hints, why not tell us the EXACT format that the videos get transcoded to? I use Adobe Premiere and other encoders and I'm pretty sure if you gave me the EXACT epecifications I can squeeze a video into it without a major blow to quality.
In other words, what can I do to avoid transcoding?

I uploaded 3 videos yesterday afternoon, and all 3 still say they are processing. The
size
s are 59.3 mg, 39.1, and 26.7. So all are well under the 100 mg limit.
It is now after 10 AM the following day and STILL processing. So now what? Why aren't they up and posted??
Someone please help!! Thanks!!

I use total video converter, to change the resolution and tell it that it cant save anything over 100mb's and it does all the work from there =]
its not a free program but trust me its worth checking into you can convert pretty much anything into anything lol even video to animated gif or even phone types =]

To myspace, if you increased your file
size
limit it would greatly help with competition against other video uploading sites. I'm sure that is the main reason people would go else where to upload there videos,
size
, and quality. I can't get a good looking, decent timed video with 100 mb. It's just not Happening.
And to people who are slightly over the 100 mb limit, just import your video into windows movie maker(if you use windows) and cut some extra crap out. That should do the trick with out messing around with formats and resolution and stuff to much

I use Movie Maker 2.6 that I downloaded for free. I like it but it only works with .wmv filesi.
There are some converter programs that are also free kind'a (pastes a watermark in the middle of the screen for the first minute if haven't paid for it). There are ways around that but it's a hassle. If the file format is .wmv it works good.

The one and only DMO
I have a 35 minute video on my video channel that is a mere 35 or so MBs. I use iMovie, and when I save/export I set it to "web streaming" and it does it fine. The result is not bad at all so I am not complaining.

Myspace has increased the size of vids to 250 MB!!!! great for those just over the 100 MB (which was annoying). For those still in the "processing" stage. delete it & reupload it. Must be a myspace issue, has happened to me a few times. Once I've reuploaded I was fine
