The origin of Wearing of the green on St. paddy's day:
Years ago, Ireland was overrun with snakes, so St. patrick was asked to rid the isle of the snakes. To do this, St. Patrick brought hundreds of monkeys to Ireland, and turned them loose. The monkeys promptly killed or ran off all of the snakes...
Unfortunately, this left several hundred monkeys running loose in Ireland.
So, St. Patrick declared that all Irishmen should wear green, so he could tell them apart from the monkeys....
And that's how traditions are made!!! :)
