LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Nevada Democratic Party officials said on Friday they were canceling a presidential debate co-sponsored by Fox News, following a joke chairman Roger Ailes made about Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

In a letter sent to Fox, Nevada State Democratic Party Chairman Tom Collins and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Ailes "went too far" with comments made the night before.

The letter makes no reference to a crusade by the liberal activist group MoveOn.org to boycott Fox, which it calls a "right-wing mouthpiece." Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards dropped out of the debate on Thursday, citing in part Fox's participation. MORE

I just love this. Fox and BushCo are now whining that the Democrats have "given in" to MoveOn.org, yet they take their marching orders from Dobbs and his "Focus On The Family" freaks. Give me a break. Everyone knows the reason the Democrats want nothing to do with Fox's idea of a debate is because it's not a debate. It would be a right wing ambush of anyone silly enough to show up.

Fox, you and your fundie owners can take your "debate" and put it where the sun don't shine. We aren't buying it. And we're not buying you either. How have your ratings been Fox? Slipping a little? A lot? How about TANKING?

Think about this. In 2008 a Democrat will be sitting in the White House. Democrats will also control the Congress. Think of this, all of the power that you have weaseled for your boy Bush will then be in a Democrat's hands.

Beware the power of an aroused and irate electorate.
