Over the past 6 months, we’ve been working hard to rectify the issues that arose from our first event, and to ensure that 2008’s FIELD DAY is everything we want it to be.

We’ve appointed a new production team:- Ear To The Ground who’ve implemented many large scale events and were most recently behind Liverpool Capital of Culture launch event. Check their site at www.eartotheground.org for more info.

There will be a significant increase in toilets and urinals across the FIELD DAY site in 2008

The Peppermint Group (www.peppermintbars.co.uk) who have experience running the bars at the 30,000+ capacity festival Bestival for the last 3 years, 36,000 capacity Glade festival, Lovebox and many others will be managing, running and operating the bars at Field Day 2008.

The site is being re planned and redesigned so we get the best possible sound and DB levels by Vanguardia Consulting www.vanguardiaconsulting.co.uk), who work with the likes of V Festival, Download, O2 Wireless and also have experience in Victoria Park with Lovebox.

There will be a new ticketing and guest list system implemented on arrival, and all signposting will be improved.

Best Wishes
Field Day team

Excellent news. I was there last year and the three main problems were getting a beer, going to the bog and sound creepage from other stages. If these are resolved then the quality line up will be more enjoyable.

Two other possible areas of improvement - longer sets, and not starting the sets on all the stages at the same time.

I bought my tickets last week on the basis that noises had been made about sorting out last year's issues so I am pleased to see this blog entry from the organisers, and I hope these promises are delivered come August.

Looking forwrd to it already, let's hope the weather is as gorgeous as last year!
