Hello everyone. I know alot of you don't know me and some of you have only have talked to me a few times. And some of you I have known all my life..... But If you would take a moment to listen to what I have to say and please think about helping.
Three years ago my husband died from a rare genetic disorder called Ehlers-Danlos vascular type (VEDS). VEDS is life treating and most people that have VEDS don't live pass the age of 48. Many have died before the age of 30. My husband was 27 years old when he passed away and his mother was 30. VEDS has been passed down to my daughter. Her name is Chloe and she is 6 years old. On the outside most of the time Chloe looks healty but on the inside she is a very sick little girl. Every time I have to take Chloe to the E.R. when she is sick or hurt and I have to tell the doctors that my baby has VEDS. They just look at me and say I'm so very sorry. To find a doctor that will just see Chloe just for a cold I have to drive 1 hour. Doctors are scared to treat her because not enough is known about VEDS. And the doctors know one little mistake could take her life. So they refuse to see her. See there isn't enough known about VEDS and not a lot of money to do studies on it. So I am asking everyone I know if they would save pop tabs to and have them sent to me and all the money will be donated to the EDS foundation. I will do anything I have to to help save my little girl for as long as I can.
We will start collecting pop tabs May 2007 (EDS awarness month) and keep collecting for one year in May 2008 we will take them in and donate any money that is earned and donate it to The Ehlers- Danlos Foundaton.
