Current mood:  amused
did i slam madonna? well i didnt mean to, i havent spokent o her in.... oh years- i did need to speak to her recently- about a shared situation but got my information elsewhere- shes very - well i dunno we probably think about the same thing of each other- when we think of each other. we have some mutual friends - a few actually- and stylists and whatnot- so i dunno - im friends with her manager- and always takke waht he says very seriously= idon think i d go so far as to say that i SLAMMED madonna- i dont generally slam anyone these days slagging people is for kids- and id ont believe in evil toungue- evil eye nonsense- you get what you give and thast my core belief so if i said i personally did not find much value as a rock musician in the msuical OUVRE of madonnas WORKS , there isnt much to INSPIRE me as a MUSICIAN in ROCK MUSIC of the lower fidelity authentic ( i spose that what it could be called) sort - slickness doest interest me much at this point- and theres alot of slickness in the POP MUSIC OUVRE, or it would not sell- i think shes had some fine producers and i like...well ive never really listened to her music to be honest- shes a nice person we have a faded but complex relationship to one another - and with time children a marriage all sorts of things relax in a person so i dont know- i dont think i salmmed her i think ipraised her business acumen- and her ability to not screw up a good thing- im far m,ore self destructive quite obviously and shit....were not even in the same category of MUSIC- were just bnoth quite famous so ive been told........ in any case i like EVERYONE.
YAAAAY.
i havbnet talked to aqny friends in the UK unless i brought them home with me to LA because if im not in creative mode im in business mode- and theres a lot to protect and alot to get fixed in the past-
i dont mean to be so negative - but women and money........ its a pandemic really isnt it/ checkinga fico score for the forst time EVER was a shocker-
-
i have a lovely time when im in the UK and its far calmer than it is here in LA and i very much plan on a 2nd home there- but only when my finances are safe- and n ot treated like so much dross-and for that i must obtain KNOWLEDGE and EDUCATION. Even though im an artist- yeah we too must suffer Fica scores and worse than those who arent - because we are treated like utter shit if we even allow th eslightest thing to escape and iveallowed others to take care of my shit for so longa nd im so ANGRY - at them obviously but at myself- this chaos has got ot be cleared before anything can move and sometimes i do not care about records or movies or any dammed thing - until the stuff is clear and clean and a simple life is lived = with dashes of fabulousity and very nice floral arrangements .....
and weve been writing at nigh dso i have to switch modalities and its verty frustrating indeed and incredibly time consuming as i also have to mak etime for my child- who needs more time than ever at her age and vulnerability- and she is the love ofv my life- i havent had time fo rfriends- for travel for a dammed thing- tow ear m y lanvin dresses even to wear lipstick or do my hair-= or anything maybe i shower jumop into my Hysteric jeans and a Rick t shirt and go to work change my undies and bursh my teeth and brish my hair and othe rthan that i havent even worn PERFRUME for two weeks- ive worked my ass to the BONE - im tired and gimme a break im working my ass off chanting my ass off, taking care of my kid my band my producer my home my friends staying with me....my fincanses ....christ i havent even been anywhere biut the studio and the rehersal stuido and a few banks- its a GRIND,,,i do see a light at the end of the tunnel- aND AGAIN for gods sake you tabloid writers get it bloody right at least- Mosses house is LOVELY- My daiughter is 15 and its possibly not right for a teen but she needs to see it first- and its also very tidy and very neat and she runs her biz affairs very very nicely - i have total respect for her as a friend and a mother- and like her tons and have known her for 1000 yrs and thats about all im gonna say about anything.....i like EVERYONE- unless theyt are taking food off my table illegally- then i dont like them. time for bed- where you zig baby i shall zag

Do you like it? I took it in Paris where I can't normally afford to go because I'm up working, no time for much perfume or makeup, got to put food on the table etc.

I suppose it's kind of the same fame or not.

OMG Courtney, This is your GREATEST BLOG to DATE. I love you (really -- wait til you have time to find out who I am & what I really mean). WE love you, and I'm talking about your friends in the forums. We have a song lyric thread, that we are all contributing to. The goal is to come up with something that you would actually sing. With the way it started out, though, it's maybe going to end up being just something amusing for you to read. When you have time. "Slick" is a superb way to describe pop music. You come up with the best things. Though it's slick, Madonna "Music" (whole CD -- if you can get past the title track) is probably worth a listen. Also in the same category (sorta) is "J Lo" CD, "Now Mr. dj, I've asked you 3 times, just play my mfking song." Of course, you may want to listen to Shirley Manson and Garbage instead, though. KUDOS and MANY XX's and OOO's from your excited fans who know you are in the studio, working your ass off "to the bone." Good one, Courtney LOL

You are a beautiful and amazing person. Just because you are famous doesn't mean you can't go without perfume once and awhile like the rest of us! If I actually had a chance to speak with you I'm not sure what I would say first because you were such a HUGE inspiration in more ways then one. I can't say the same for the Madonna... that wasn't a slam. :3

Your self-disclosure is admirable. That's a unique attribute to have in your role in life as a celebrity and such. It seems a lot of celebrities walk on eggshells and are afraid to fully speak their mind do to the medias manipulation of their words and actions. Here you seem to fully explain yourself above and beyond. Truth and honesty is a beautiful thing. In a strange way it's wonderful to hear you say you haven't had time to even put perfume on, likewise I haven't had time to shave my legs (although I will always make time for myspace, go figure :). This blog helps me to see that a lot of the same issues you deal with in life are the same as many others famous or not. Love, education, money, time, even explaining yourself and where you were coming from with something you said. Very familiar stuff. Education is a wonderful thing for what it is in itself...I'd have to agree...but don't let it fool you, I as well as many others have degrees and haven't used them...but I would not say my education was a waste at all, they were some of the greatest years. Pencils, schedules, binders, all that learning, that one professor... I'd love to be a professional student that would be the ultimate experience...constant learning...it just refreshes the mind and the spirit indeed! If your looking for a great school (not trying to sound like a spokesperson here) check out Florida Institute of Technology (f.i.t.) everything about it is gorgeaous it's in a unique agricultural area and has it's own botannical garden. It's like it's own little community and everybody knows everybody and it's close knit, the classes usually are only a max. of 30 students...it's really personable. Alright enough said coffee must be kickin' in :)
You have a good day.
Keep Feelin' Fascination,
~Tiffany~

I was a little set back when i red "Courtney tarnished Madge's name by calling her career a joke.

"Madonna is a great business woman but come on, she's weak as an artist and we all know it. I like Madge but as a relevant musician it's a joke," Courtney said.

I guess also the fact that you and Madonna are my all time favorite musicians and i love you both for who you are and your music, everything you stand for....it's hard for me...I feel i need to take a side i guess......Madonna is a god....her Confessions album is one of my all time favorite cd's and her Confessions tour was out if this world!!! As for you I also adore you! Ever since i first heard Doll Parts in 1994 I was hooked, collecting almost every b-side, single, t-shirt, record ect. I can't wait for Nobody's Daughter!!!! I love you both!!! XOXOXO

this kind of circular thinking drags you down, dear. not that you need to hear such things from a poor poet like me. however, i feel the need to point out the following: you should take more risks in your lyrical construction. i mean, we all know you can right a good ditty. but a true song is something else. a song is a gift from...well for lack of a better word, G-d. you must be sharp and perfectly attuned to let the tune & the words enter you. you serve the song. but your insecurities get the best of you. and so you occupy yourself with nonsense like your place in madonna's mind (like she even really cares, courtney...come on, you're better than that).

anyway, all apologies if this was too critical. i just want to see & hear you shine.

best regards,

david greenberg

The tabloids again...I guess you would have to stick your head in the sand to not know the tabloids talk/make shit up about you. They must be pretty pathetic if they have nothing better to do than that. Funny, I got what you meant in the earlier post about Madonna and knew it was NOT a slam, when I read it the FIRST time around. So, the tabloids are pathetic AND kinda dumb on top of that. The only thing you will probably ever be able to do about it is learn to laugh at them and just live your life. You can win by living well, despite their childish attempts to get under your skin. Don't let them do it. That way, you win. :D

FICA scores are funny. Sometimes, even years after restoring your credit, old stuff will stay on there and mess you up. Sometimes, you have to grab the creditors you've paid off by the balls and MAKE them update your information. Back when I was working at the guitar store, I learned how to enter the info in and read credit scores. Basically, what my boss told me was if it's a hospital bill, ignore it. Hospitals routinely screw people's credit scores up, even if they paid on time, in full, and paid entirely too much ($2 for a cotton ball, wtf). Otherwise, he told me to give it a once over and look at it like they would be owing me the money. 0.o

"Women and money" - The bottom line is this: if you are spending more money in any given period of time than you are bringing in, you are in trouble. It's all about income and spending. Those two things are like yin and yang. If one is greater than the other, you want it to be the income part. Be careful who you trust with it though. You can't throw a penny without it landing in a con artist's hands. They are always ready to pounce. Watch your back. You'll get it straightened out in time if you stick to it, but don't let it bog you down. Patience and a refusal to pull your hair out are the keys there.

It's great to hear you are working steadily. I'm looking forward to hearing the "b sides" you keep talking about. That's great news for your fans. Even the songs you don't like are practically freaking sacred to us. You could cut yourself some slack sometimes though. Take a break and enjoy life for a day every now and then. :D

Lots of love to ya, Courtney. The world is a better place because you are in it. You make a HUGE difference in so many lives. If you only knew...

No need to explain yourself! Those of us with clear ears, not looking for scandal=TMZ'd out, heard u, she's more of an entertainer than a musician/singer per sey. She'd even admit to that I'm sure. She's never claimed to be this great singer. She's like a brand but amazing at it. She really began the whole c..huge visual/dancing/"show" type of deal with others (Zoo tour) following suit. There's a difference between really talented artists (U2) doing it though. She's been an important part of our culture, creating the Pop Icon. As for sitting with a guitar and releasing magic, that's a horse (whores) of a diffferent color! Fortunately or unfortunately she opened the door for female dancers who are made to be called singers (too many to mention) and sing with tracks during their "shows"/extravaganza's. Just like there are "actors" vs. "movie stars" there are "singers" and "musicians." I guess obviously, there's room for both, the least talented are consumable products that get all the attention and money, which is sad and puzzling. But as we are now seeing, they tend to self-destruct more often and more rapidly. Karma?? Slick vs. raw, artist vs. performer, real vs. pretend.

Boy can I relate to that treadmill! I'm on it now and my son is 18 and finally in first year university. At the end of the day you're in charge so take care of business girlfriend and don't ever change. Paps are always looking for conflict and because you have some personality you become targeted. Its your baby's time now and your time will come again! You'll see..sooner than later. Both Madonna and you are icons in my book and we know you both work your asses off! So thanks!

It must be hard when you're in it, but you and Madonna have both contributed so much to music and fashion and been so inspiring that you must respect one another as powerful women who changed pop culture history. I've grown up madly in love with you both as a fan. Personally, I find that reviewing TRUTH OR DARE is always worthwhile, if only for the amazing Gaultier.

I doubt Madonna thinks about anyone really other than those closest to her, you know she's one of those high and mighty bitches that won't go out at all or do anything personal at all involving the public unless it involves selling records or her shitty movie career. As far as movies you are AMAZING to me and she is horrid. But both of you aren't the best singers, neither am I...

And Courtney L.A. fuckin sucks I was there last week... you need to spend more time in NY and meeting new fabulous people, there's a bunch of us ya know.

Oh, and when you through the compact- that changed my life. My sister hated you for that, I was like 7 and didn't catch it but then I got really into your shit when "Celebrity Skin" came out. That video changed my life. I would've scissored you!

What you said wasn't a slam. You know how to slam people, and there are far worse things that could be said about Madge.
(I love it when I hear people call here that. It reminds me of those early '80s Palmolive commercials. "Yeah, Bitch, soak in it.") Ahhhh! The media at their best trying to start shit to sell mags and papers. Bastards.

I can't express all my thanks to you for "working your ass to the bone." Your creativity is an inspiration. Dying to hear the new album.

You are a mother above and beyond everything else and a good one at that. You brought her into this world, don't allow others to subject you to their conforming ideas of parenting. Shit ... parents that stifle their children end up with rebellious runaways, who lack street smarts and life experience to survive on their own. I can't stand the idea of sheltering children. The truth will set you free to educate your child. Stupid people beget stupid people. What really pisses me off are the people who don't have children telling you what you're doing is wrong. Have a kid, and then come talk to me!

Enough of my retoric on parenting and the media ...
Keep up the hard work, Woman. You are touched by a muse that I would love to meet.

I remember watching that year on the MTV awards when she was talking to Kurt Loder and he was all, "Oh look it's Courtney Love! Should we ask her up?" She was all "No. Please No" Such a frosty box, it was great!!! Then you compared shoes and she told you to get out of the hospital and all this creepy seething politeness on her part and all this genuine, gushing fan-ness on your part. It was crazy and weird and wonderful. God bless Kurt Loder. He just knew that shit was gonna happen too. It was so great. I say this as a fan of both yours and Madonna's. Though admittedly, a much bigger fan of yours. That was a great interview, seeing the M so freaking uncomfortable!!! Fucking priceless. Ahhhhh, the salad days!

If yer not a fan pop on the forthcoming WB CATALOGE MADONNA GREATIST HITS(I'm sure you can get an advance copy) and I defiy you to not close yer eyes and feel the strobes at smashbox baptizing your hot ass in a little rockin and rollin'...her show aint got no raspy tart offs and ash flicks on the crowd ...but homegirl brings the STADUIM down...not a dry ass crack in the lot o' em-- thats rock n roll....and don't think I don't think MRS.RICHIE couldn't take a page or too of notes on how to get DIRTY from your swankass..infact a cover duet of under my thumb might suit both yer OVUREs nicely...

It's true. Madonna is madonna. She wouldn't pour her heart out to the public like you do.

Unless she wants to sell out another record. And it's funny that I have always loved madonna as a kid. You are really awesome, because you throw your passion out into the world.

My god so many assholes hate you for it.
I used to do that, be public about how much
I feel, and one day I let the assholes get to me, that I stopped speaking.

But that was years ago.

I love how you are. Stay that way forever, I think you will.

That's what makes you "you", that's why people love you I think,
well it is for me.

Cheers,
Rach
