MTV announced BAD BRAINS will be the latest artist to appear on the coveted MTV's 52/52 Bands program starting February 4, 2008. Past artists of MTV 52 Bands have been Against Me, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, among others.

 

Interviews, performances, and other expose items on the band's legendary rise will appear on MTV proper. The band's latest album is the critically-acclaimed Build A Nation on Megaforce/Oscilloscope Records.

That is pretty awesome. I will definitely tune in. I've only seen Bad Brains on any kind of video format a handful of times in 20 years. And it was only the Soulcraft video and interview on Post-Modern before it was revamped as 120 Minutes.

Bad Brains on MTV is like Queen Latifah doing a Weight Watchers commercial. Er, nevermind. Seriously. MTV never played you for how long? I looked it up in the listings and it's kind of saying something when it's not on the schedule again this week. F**k MTV. Keep on doing what you do.

What the fuck is this shit. You guys WERE my favorite band, my idols, but MTV, seriously? What are you gonna do, go sing some reggae songs and make a million dollars? I thought you stood for something, you just sold out. Now you're among the ranks of Against Me, a buch of bands who care nothing about the people who made them famous or what those people stood for.
