Current mood:slowly fading frustration

Omg.  I saw Young Frankenstein today. Nathan was very sweet and treated me to it.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I really liked it.  Honestly, it's not a show that will leave you breathless.  Songs were pretty good.  The special effects were M-A-zing!!  And the script is hilarious.

Megan Mullally was great.  I wanted to hear her real voice, but her character I guess called for a little Karen Walker.  To end one of her numbers, "Deep Love", she belted and that was one of the times I said, "Wow".  She strikes me as a diva type person, and of course she had to sneak out a different door away from her fans waiting to meet her at the stage door.  Or if she didn't, she must have just hung out backstage until their next show.  Very disappointed.  Anyways.

Roger Bart was wonderful.  His hysterical screaming and popping leg always made the audience laugh.  We met him!!  He was really nice.  He came out with his hair a mess like he just got out of bed.  It was obvious he was tired... plus he said so. :)  Yay!  We got an autograph and picture with him!

Sutton Foster. I didn't know her before (although her name sounded familiar), but I really like her voice. Apparently she won a Best Leading Actress Tony Award.  Yay for her!  Her yodeling in "Roll in the Hay" was great.

So I really wish I could say I met her, but sadly we merely passed eachother.  So the thing is, we were wasting time just waiting for the bus to pick us up.  So we just walked around the streets near the Paramount.  We must have passed the Paramount atleast 4 times (secretly hoping we'd catch Megan sneaking out).  So when it was finally time to make our way to the bus stop, we passed by the stage door one more time.  A woman I saw walking out of the stage door the previous hour was walking towards us.  She had a bandana on, so I didn't know what her hair looked like.  But she began greeting the men outside guarding the stage door.

"Hey guys.  How are you doing..."

In my head I was like, "Hey, I think that's Inga."  I told Nathan but I think he doubted me.  So I didn't want to embarass myself asking her if she was Sutton.

And then a guy said, "Oh, I just want to say that you had an amazing performance."

Doh!  Now I swear, it HAS to be her.  But Nathan wanted to check the program while on the tip of my tongue "Excuse me!" was about to slip out.  She was the one I was waiting for at the stage door after Roger and Megan.  That was my chance!!  I kept looking back debating wether or not to say anything.

Finally Nathan got to the page and was like, "Oh, my goodness! That's who you saw right?  That IS her!" And I turned around and she disappeared through the stage door.

Omg.  I was beating myself for the next few hours.  I was so mad.  Why didn't I just have the guts to ask?!?!  And she was talking to the men for a while with the door propped open.  That's what I get for being shy.  So I didn't really "meet" her.  But hey, I was like two feet away.  That's got to count for something.  :P *sigh*

Oh, and later I realized that the guy who played Igor was THE ORIGIONAL BOQ in Wicked!!  I wish I realized that before the show.

Anyways, I had a great time.  Thanks so much Nathan!

Hey now. You don't have to make me feel bad. :( Lol. I can't keep up with all the celebrities and happenings with the theatre world like you. And I haven't known about Broadway intimately as long as you have. I know. I'm ashamed. But hey, I'm working on it!
