Editorial
Well we hope you had a good Christmas and hope you have a wicked time with your New Years Eve celebrations tonight! It's been a good year for Street Voice with the more varied artists/bands we brought you and will continue that way in 2009.
The downer for us has been the recession with people losing their jobs globally, the on going conflicts around the world including Afghanistan, famine still continues and the four animal rights campaigners found guilty for trying to save the lives of animals. Not forgetting the disgraceful acts in Palestine either. This is to name but a few downers for us.
At Street Voice as well as bringing you more music we will also be writing more socially aware articles to help encourage people to get off their arses and do something about it!
We should all be making a new years resolution of becoming more active than ever in 2009.
However tonight is the night for partying tomorrow is the day that action should begin.
Have A Safe New Years.

Syren are an all female alternative/rock trio delivering powerful and well-crafted songs with the dynamics and intuitive "tightness" that come from a never-ending show schedule.
The band formed in the USA September 2006. Being a highly motivated bunch and due to audience demand, they went on to record their debut album "Dehumanized," which was self-released in January 2008.
Having been offered a tour of the UK, Syren decided to relocate and since their arrival they have played many of the country's top venues.
After making an impression on the highly respected band Hawkwind at their 2008 Hawkfest, Syren were invited to open the show
It was actually through checking out Hawkwind that I came across Syren and the moment I heard them I knew I wanted to feature them in Street Voice.
You can check out the interview I did with Syren HERE.

This site is a great place to check out if you're bassist and comes highly recommended from various bassists who've given this site the thumbs up. It's all free so no costs unless you want to make a donation to keep it running. Now that's cool in our eyes with some one wanting to pass on their experience without charging the earth.

Gig 4 A Quid is collaboration between Street Voice and the West Coast Bar/Venue in Margate.
Our aim is to promote decent gigs with a door entry of just £1!! Yes that's right £1!!
With the recession hitting people hard and live music taking a nose dive in attendances we came to the conclusion that live music needs pushing so we've taken the plunge and decided to put on gigs that everyone can afford.
We also realise that if more people are to be encouraged to come out and support live music then the quality of the artists/bands has to be spot on. We're both experienced at what we do and will do our best to make sure that the quality of bands we put on are spot on.
Bands we are approaching will be mainly from the London/South East area of the UK who have new releases to promote. Also bands on tour will be asked to drop by including the odd overseas band too!
Gig 4 A Quid gigs will start putting gigs on at the West Coat Bar/Venue in Margate from February 2009 on a fortnightly basis. These gigs will be of mixed genre artists/bands to appeal to a wider audience.
If you're in a band we'd like to hear from you.
If you're a lover of live music make sure you pop along and support these gigs.
Remember they're only a quid!

At War With The People
Last week in the UK the National Extremism Tactical Coordination Unit, the government's gang of agents whose remit is to destroy the animal rights movement, announced that they were happy with the number of activists now in prison or heading there. At the same time we were informed that the role of those issuing the warning remains indispensable because of the emerging threat from the group Earth First!
Apparently, warned the detectives of NETCU, environmental activists might be about to start a war on humanity with a view to taking out 80% of the human population! Remember, read what those who represent all that is bad in our society say and turn it on its head. Now you're getting close to the truth! What is increasingly clear is that there is an agenda taking shape across the planet manipulated by those who control human affairs to reduce the human population massively. Not so? Look around the world it's happening on a massive scale. Aids, War on Terror, environment destruction, junk food, CJD, malnutrition, cancer, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, Codex Alimentarius. The list goes on and on and on and it's not happening by accident or because we're stupid.
People are dying in the millions but it's not those of us trying to make this world better that are responsible for any of it, not a single death! If the monsters that oversee this madness tell you more vaccinations are the answer will you continue to believe them?
In recent years a raft of new laws have been created that make any kind of protest activist either illegal or dangerous or both and consequently we now have decent people languishing in prisons for running websites, for running lawful campaigns, for being near to exposing animal cruelty.
