Christmas Confusion
by Louise Yeiser
(96 words)

My childhood Christmas pageants had angels and animals and Mary and Joseph and a crèche and a doll and a tin-foil star; and I loved my halo, and belted out, "We wisssshhhhh you a Merry Christmas...; and here in 2007-08, it is politically incorrect, and possibly illegal, to say, "Merry Christmas;" so I'm confused, a bond I share with my 83-year old father. Although he has an excuse, being an octogenarian and all, I do not; and I still want to wisssshhhhh you a Merry Christmas; and I'm allowed, since I used to be an angel.

Louise Yeiser thinks she studies Creative Nonfiction at the University of Pittsburgh, lives in Sewickley PA with a host of pets, authors Sneak Peeks (http://sneakpeeks.typepad.com), and has been published in Modern Witches, Wizards and Magic (Kerlak Publishing), and online at sixsentences.com and Tuesday Shorts; but she isn't sure.
