NEW ORDER RE-RELEASES UPDATE!
This is a very difficult one , we are aware of the problems and because we did not have finished product to listen to? It has, shall we say……. slipped through the net?? My great friend claude flowers has taken it on himself to sort this mess out personally, but please be aware , that after the fact it is going to be very difficult, unfortunately because many of you have purchased them already ( a great compliment in itself) we are doing all we can to try and get fresh masters made and available , somehow ? to try and remedy the situation, so please bear with us.
I have said before how difficult it is compiling this stuff, the masters steve and I listened to, were all basically from people's collections, so it was then left to someone? In the library department to compile, as much as possible from original masters, this is where it seems to have gone wrong , unfortunately it is industry standard these days to not have production masters of the cd's or the sleeves, much to pete saville's amazement, but that's just the way it is , hopefully they might resurrect the process after this. Here's hoping, hooky.

I must be going deaf, all the versions I've got seem to be ok. Movement in particular sounds like a new album through my headphones ?

my favourite version of Movement was the original vinyl- now i'm certainly not no vinyl-loving CD-hater, but it did have a more pronouced warmth and sparkle. maybe its just me...

No production masters of the sleeve art?
That is pretty amazing. It seems like common sense to back up stuff like that.

Personaly every recording ive ever brought of Joy Division/New Order has been perfect!!!-so myself i carnt see what the problem is???-enless of course theres going to be extra studio outtakes or unreleased stuff on the CDs which i hope is the case.On another matter i would like to see a true ''BEST OF NEW ORDER'' Album of tracks picked by the fans from all New Orders singles/remixes/album tracks.Again speaking for myself,we dont need re-issue albums the same as the Factory issues then the London re-issues or a CD full of singles (again!).What about an album of re-mixes of New Order album tracks????

Maybe they are nitpicking, but everyone wants things done correctly, especially our beloved NO!

I haven't actually bought 'em myself yet, purely because i'm a lazy fucker....

(was still waiting for 'Recycle' lol)

What the fook do Majors know about music anyway? I'm a completist so I bought them but I would have preferred more informative sleeve notes i.e discography, comments from Saville about the art, comments from fans about the music and remarks about those influenced as well - the band remarks are fine. As for the sound - Procession sounds shit and so does Everythings Gone Green - plus Movement was delayed in reaching every retailer - what a fuck up.
Hooky - Your band are THE most important link between DIY labels and Club music no contest - I hope some people hang their heads in shame at a missed opportunity to represent a stunning legacy with understated releases.
Shame James Nice wasn't allowed to release them - he has done a pretty good job on the Factory back cat on the whole with his LTM label.
But - I am still hammering the reissues on my player at home to preserve my precious vinyl.
And fu*k me - how monumental IS the 17 min version of Elegia?>?????

Crazy stuff! It's a shame labels take a good idea and botch the execution of it.

A mate of mine paid £36,000 for a SECOND HAND amp. and his speaker cables cost over £100 per metre (he's a bit of an audiophile to put it mildly) - now maybe just maybe he has the kit that can tell the difference the rest of us will suffer from higher bank balances and blissful ignorance! lol

I haven't heard these yet, and I think the guys on neworderonline. com can be an obsessive and whiny bunch, so I take what they say with a grain of salt. But so far this is really aggravating hearing how Warners have seemed to have messed this up beyond belief. Warners also recently released Metallica's 'Death Magnetic' album, which apparently had such poor mastering it had their fans up in arms. It just seems Warners simply Dont. Give. a. F*$@! Quality control seems to be out of the question for them. That would cost some time and effort for the short term!, who cares if we're putting out terrible quality product that will be around for decades... What happened to Warner Bros? They were arguably the greatest label in the world for ages. Dont worry though, Hooky - your fans know you and NO are the best!
