My first show was an introduction. From here on in it gets gritty. Maybe a little to real. I have just shot some scenes which were quite disturbing for me, so I can't gauge how the public are going to deal with them. We are looking at the mortality of what, till now, has been an iconic hero. What's approaching will alter some of that.
Some people are qoing to feel quite uneasy at the upcomming material. I can't remember a person in daytime, much less any other time, ever putting themselves in the pathway of reality quite like we have here.
I think it's quite unique. How it will be percieved, I have no opinion on right now.
There's no question NS is breaking some interesting story. It may in fact be a first. But soap stories don't usually confront issues like this with characters like me. I cannot imagine Gloria ever allowing something like this to take place on her watch.
But the challenge, as an actor, was just plain undeniable. And I am for it.
We'll talk further as it develops.

I just watched NS on Soapnet and was pretty amazed and pleased with Scorpio's character and storyline so far. It's a great deal more acting than was allowed on the daytime GH episodes over the past year or so. The closet scene was hilarious. I think the viewers will be okay with the brain tumor et al storyline coming up, but that said I've yet to see what the gritty parts look like. Keep up the excellent pushing back at everyday, predictable scenes.

For several years now, GH could have been serving up fan-pleasing storylines with Genie Francie and Tristan Rogers alongside Tony Geary. Instead they've ignored the obvious opportunities for rich, character-driven material and continued to focus almost exclusively on tired, mob-centric storylines that glorify amoral characters.

Luke, Laura and Robert are THE legacy characters on GH; their adventures were enjoyed by millions more viewers than the show attracts today. Not surprisingly, the current custodians of that legacy proved themselves so inept, they didn't even give the legendary trio a single scene together during Laura's return in 2006.

I'm pleased to see Tristan Rogers back, even for a brief stint. But if the end result of these episodes is the death or ruination of Robert Scorpio, I think many of us longtime fans will finally be done with it. I sure hope that's not the case.

Of course I meant Genie FRANCIS, not "Francie.
"
That was definitely a typo.

I just saw the first NIGHT SHIFT appearance. As always, spectacular.

In a perfect world, ABC would have long ago launched "SCORPIO," a half-hour series in the vein of "Dr. Who," with solid action and character-driven stories, 5 days a week.

And it's not too late. I think fans would settle for 13 episodes on SoapNet once a year.

The DVD sales would easily rival those of NIGHT SHIFT.

Personally I find the character of Robert Scorpio far more compelling (and funnier) now that he has a little age on him. My daughter (age 11) has seen many vintage GH episodes and feels the same way.

The character Luke had to face his age and Mortality. He lived thru it. Here's hoping you do. I don't want to see them kill you off. Good Luck.

Tristan, I have watched NS since it began. I really appreciate that they are using your character in such an amazing way. No one (especially me) wants to see anything bad happen to Robert. I have watched since the early 80's and I love this character. I think you make it so interesting and funny. I look forward to what is in store for you as an actor and Robert as the character. I will be glued to the tube. Good luck.

I look forward to the upcoming storyline with Robert. I will reserve how I will feel with the disturbing scenes that will be shown. I know that you will do them the respect that they deserve.

I do understand that each director puts their own spin to the storyline. However, I feel that sometimes they loose perspective of what the original concept was.

I am still glad that Robert is back in Port charles and I look forward to seeing him each week.

I say ok let's have it...but do not kill off another beloved character...I am so tired of the sacrifice of my true blue charachters for good story...you can tell an excellent struggle story without killing the whole main fabric of the show.

Witht that said, I so loved seeing you and the hurt on Robin's face was just dead on! Loved it. I was a little put off with the newbies...the acting was forced. But I always feel like that at first. I miss the old Julian and am just glad there are enough regulars to help the transition of all the new blood.

Jagger is a plus..I missed Antonio....I would love this tumor to be played out in all kinds of ways...Robert having to depend on anyone is an awesome storyline...
just let death not be an option! For a change.....
I hope Jason will be on NS....

Well, I loved the first part of your storyline! Dealing with a tumor is going to be gritty, I'm sure, but it should make for a really great story. Maybe Robert Scorpio dealing with his mortality will be better than Luke Spencer dealing with his. I thought they did a horrible job with Luke's heart condition. NS has different writers, so I hope they do better.

I'm glad you are enjoying the challenge and I hope the fans will enjoy it as much as they can enjoy such a story.

I loved NS and found it funny in how they were introducing back story so they could move forward in repairing the relationship between father and daughter. Friday 8/8/08 was the anniversary of my father's death--38 years and we never had an opportunity to resolve our differences and probably never would have. When I remember I father I remember the physical abuse I suffered at his hands.

I've watched NS and loved the way they used some comedy into the way they brought father and daughter together. It was the anniversay of my fathers death this month--8/80/08. He died from colon cancer and the doctors mistake before he died. When I think of him I don't have very good memories of him because of the physical abuse I suffered at his hands. In my home there is no open lines of communication and I'm tired of banking my head against a wall trying to talk to them.

I like the way they created a back story before moving ahead to resolve the issues between father and daughter.
