	Jay Jay Brittenham	I disagree, kiddo. Boll is only in business because his representation is able to con naive financiers into thinking he has talent. His films aren't even likable in the way Ed Wood movies are. There's no love in them. Watching 'House of the Dead' made me feel like he needed to snort lines just to get out of bed and shoot. Do we really need to see tens of millions of dollars go to waste on another Uwe Boll movement? Twenty million children starve to death every year, just to cite one of the world's atrocities that are really easy to ignore. Consider all the horrific wrongs of on our planet that could be relieved because someone was kind enough to write a check. Think about how many bad movies are made every year. Think about all the jilted gamers, me included, who get stereotyped as ignorant, uneducated brutes because of the trash Boll produces. He's set the video game industry back years in terms of gaining artistic recognition! To me, it makes perfect sense that people with taste would be upset at someone like Boll getting extortion level sums of money. Now, he's starting to shoot flicks that actually have budgets. If people object to that waste of resources, then they certainly have the right to unite and voice their opinions. And they should. The irony is that Eli is one of the few people making horror who does so because he truly feels it is a higher art, like Takashi Miike and George A. Romero. I won't try to argue that movies like Hostel are for everyone, or that there's something wrong with people who don't like horror films. I can understand why some people just don't want to look at violence. But for those that do love this genre, Eli gives us films that inject social commentary, criticizing contemporary injustices. Eli's movies give me a sense that he cares about what's going on in the world and wants to scare us into worrying about it as well. Billy Wilder spent the last years of his life saying no one would hire him. He was one of the greatest directors who ever lived. I say we modify the petition. Let's all sign online urging Bowell, er, Boll's financiers to rewire his production funds to Joe Dante. Then Joe can go back and make another Howling or Gremlins or Explorers and remind us what genre flicks are supposed to be. The experience will actually be a positive one for Uwe.
