Sia logged into a
crazily excited and
very busy chatroom on Gigwise.com last week, for a revealing natter where she spilled the beans about writing with
Christina Aguilera,
pregnancy rumours and her
ultimate dream.
The webchat had us in stitches as Sia valiantly kept up with the
quick-fire discussion and answered all the questions she could... her keyboard must have been smoking afterwards!
Below is just a taster of the highlights of the webchat, which you can read Part 1 of right now in the
Members' area of SiaMusic.net.
Sia on her favourite cocktail
Fave cocktail? Hmmm. Mint cucumber grapefruit vodka thingy or a white russian, ha! But i'm not drinking as much these days.
Sia on writing songs and the next album
I kind of have a system to write songs, but somedays the system fails and something else happens. It is not color by numbers but I have grown into a way that works for me. I have demo'd 23 new songs for the new album - 11 of which I love and we record in July.
Sia on hobbies and fans
I like writing above all. Recording is OK, singing for you guys is fun, and meeting fans is rewarding but can be very intense and the energy around it is usually super fragmented and wobbly, unless the fan is super alpha. Then it's just fine.
Sia on where her name comes from
My mum was studying Greek mythology and Sia was the end of a lot of things, like Anastasia, Dionysia etc. I am like Dora the Explorer but blonde. I call myself 'Sia don't do a weea in yer pants'.
Sia on writing with Christina Aguilera
Xtina and I completed 4 songs together with my mate and co-writer Sam Dixon. We will be credited as co-writers, and I guess I did some vocal production and Sam did the other production. I call her the Mad Scientist because she is the most technically brilliant singer I've ever met. She scrambled my mind.
