Who said that you can't teach an old dog new tricks must not have told George Romero because at the ripe age of 68 he has injected some much needed life into the zombie genre, Ole George is the godfather of zombie films and somehow he has stayed sharp through out the years which is more than some directors can say...ARE YOU LISTENING WES CRAVEN? Over the years George has slacked off making films  in recent years (only about 4 films in the last 20 years) and with the horrible Land of the The Dead a few years ago everyone though that he has lost his touch and no one thought that he would ever be on top again but with Diary of the Dead he has proved that he's not too old to cut the mustard and he's always been licking the jar...ha....
Diary begins with some film students making a horror film for a class project, while they begin to bicker about the direction of the movie  some news reports begin to filter in about how riots are breaking out everywhere and people are going crazy and the possibilities of the dead coming back to life and attacking the living. They rush and head back to their college in their RV, They hear more reports of how things are getting worse and they find their college empty..It doesn't take long for society to fail, one of their members kills herself and they rush her to the hospital to find help..they find the undead instead...then and there it dawns on them that shit is getting worse not better and they get back on the road they run into other survivors including a bad ass deaf amish dude who uses TNT to kill zombies, they finally make it to a friends house but nowhere is safe. Diary id George's triumphant return to the genre he created way back in 1968.
Dairy isn't officially part of his original Dead series its a re-launch beginning on night one, there's also a part 2 in the works.
