Hello From Dallas Texas... another beautiful day... we're about ready to leave the hotel and go to soundcheck... I'm watching the speeches of Sarah Palin and John McCain... and I just wanted to pass them along to you so you could watch them and see what you think.

I hope you're having a great day.

Thanks for watching these and taking the time to just look at both sides of this election...

Sarah Palin's RNC speech

John McCain's RNC speech

I'm thinking a lot about this election these days because it's such an important time and i know how much we all want things to just get better.
It's kind of overwhelming isn't it? War... Lack of Jobs... Gas prices... Climate Change... Devastating Storms... Pollution... Overflowing Land Fills... Overpopulation... Lack of Food and Drinking Water... Fear of terrorism... Distrust of Politicians... Anger... Racism... Ignorance... Fear...
phew...

I feel like making a list to counteract that one...
Friendship... Love... Family... Hope... Music... Art... Sports... Plumbing... Clothing... The Postal Service (the actual postal service that delivers mail all around the world with an unbelievably high success rate for unbelievably low prices... not the band... but, yeah... now that i think of it... the band too)... Cell Phones... The Internet... Communication... Language!!!... Movies... Eyesight... All the senses... Dreams... Nature... Cities... Recycling... Sustainable Farming... Responsibility... Honor... Nobility... Forgiveness... ETC...

I think we just need to take a deep breath... get informed about what we can do as individuals... and also make the best decision about who to vote for in this next election. What we DON'T need is any kind of divisive or angry or defensive energy... that is my least favorite part of politics... such a distraction from the issues... we need UNITY and UNDERSTANDING and OPEN-MINDED-NESS...

Here's another blog to bookmark... my friends in New York seek out inspiring things and post them here...

http://www.superforest.org/

I love you guys... happy day.

Money hungry republicans? Hempy...you have it wrong. The democrats are the ones who want to tax everyone who makes an iota of money and give to the people who are too lazy to work...perhaps you should look into the plans before just writing off one group or the other...and please get knowledgeable before you cast your vote.

Love ya Maroon 5!!!

Not fully wrong. The republicans tend to be the party of the better off whereas the democrats tend to be the party for those not as well off. The republicans make friends more with the very rich and the democrats stay more towards the middle class working people.

You're right. There IS so much to think about with these elections it can be hard to decide who to vote for. With all these different opinions going around and all of the "fightiing politics" attitues, its hard to try and pick your favorite candidate. Personally I cannot vote yet, but when I will be able to in a few years I will take your advice on being open-minded and making the right decision for our leader of the country.

Aaaahhhh... WE love YOU,

EVERYONE be as cool as YOU!?!
Why, oh, why??? I'm definitely
doing my share to try to do the
right thing, on a daily basis...
And I'm a sponge when it comes
to educating myself about ways
to do ALL things even better...
Today has been a perfect day
here in No. Va. to sit inside and
watch and listen and learn more
about what our candidates stand
for, as we're being SOAKED by
one of those wicked storms you
speak of! ;) Ugh! Soooo soggy!
Thanks, Jesse, for always staying
in touch with your fans! We all
adore you to no end! And all that
positively incredible music you
and your band make for us... It
keeps us inspired, for sure!!!
You are one amazing soul, Jesse!
Much Love to You...

So, you would rather vote for the guy who's itching to push the button and bomb everyone? The one who would rather deny any rights to the American citizens in order to put more money into the pockets of the Oil companies that are paying him, and the guy would would have his second in command be a person who has less experience than any other politician. After 8 years of the Bush administration, I'd rather vote for a three toed Sloth than see 4 more years of a republican president.

No, you mean you don't want a black man in the white house. You're a very ignorant person and I'm not saying that just because you spelled Palin's name wrong, but even an educated person who's not supporting Obama is wise enough to know he's not a communist. Do yourself a favor and read up on the candidates yourself and stop being that dumb blond in the group who only repeats other ignorant comments made by your friends and older relatives in order to sound smart and intellectual to people who don't you personally. That act doesn't even work on us.

to "gurlnlifemagazine".....you are a part of the racism problem in this country. Nothing was said about black/white issues. Why is it that the blacks are the first ones to stir up racism and black/white BS. It's not an issue of "a black man in the White House". It is an issue of national security and executive experience. Obama hasn't done a thing but write books about himself and surround himself with shady characters. I don't think that you calling someone a "dumb blond" is the way for you to fight for your candidate...oh, sorry...that IS the way dems tend to fight. LOL!!! (Oh, and I have college degrees..so I wouldn't find it wise to call me a dumb--ANYTHING). MCCAIN-PALIN '08 baby! Believe it...

I personally feel that a person should vote for whoever they think best suits there beliefs/views. If you dont vote then you have no say so in the running of our country. Both of the candiates have issues that I dont agree with, but I'm still going to vote. I liked Palian/McCain speeches more so then I liked the Biden/Obama speeches.

Still would much prefer Hillary on the Democratic ticket then Obama the girl got robbed

Jesse, Thank you for encouraging everyone to examine both sides before making a choice. I am really looking at who can reach across the aisle since the President does not pass legislation. I want a President who makes sound decisions and can make a good case that will encourage both sides to pass bills that will help America, and does not write bills that will hurt the country.

It's kind of crazy that in the 21st century we really have only 2 choices even though other parties and candidates are on the ticket. It would be refreshing to change politics as usual by creating a third major party.

After the suffragists fought so hard to give women the right to vote and the abolitionists who struggled and died to see the end of slavery as well as the civil rights heroes who risked their lives to bring about the end to segregation; I believe that as Americans it is not only our right to vote, it is our duty! We owe it to those who came before us!

Did anyone else catch the part in McCains recent speech when he was talking about "doing our part" when he said "teach a deaf...illiterate person to read". He meant to say illiterate but said Deaf and quickly covered it up. I work with deaf children and have deaf friends. McCain is a stupid man. and shouldn't be president. No disrespect on those who like him..that's your belief and this is mine.

But bravo for (maroon 5 members) being such highly respected and putting that factor into good use by talking about politics

OK, Lily, I will try not to sound as offended as I was by that remark. As the granddaughter, daughter, wife and mother of military men, I found your comment more a statement of fact than an opinion. "I am sure" normally does not precede an opinion.

Though I couldn't care any less than I do already about whom you are casting your vote for, since it's the Electoral College that matters, not the individual vote - I DID get offended at that comment on behalf of every returning soldier I've ever known. It was derogatory, insulting and belittling. To actually hear FROM THEM the horrors they went through - then to hear someone like you say "you're sure" they are LESS because of it?

I just don't have the words to state MY opinion of what that says about you.

You don't need to explain to me the horror of War! My brother is in Irak!!!!!! Your interpretation of the comment I made it’s wrong. I never said or think that soldiers are “Less” because of what they suffered. They are people who deserve respect and recognition. On the other hand, my brother NEEDS psychological help MOST of the time he is home, because of what he experienced. In my comment, I am talking about McCain; I simply don’t believe he is the right person to lead this country. I DO RESPECT YOUR COMMENT! And I am sorry if I offended you or anyone else.

I'll be honest here...the only time I even think about the election is reading your comments about them. Most of the time taking care of kids and working, with school later, I don't really watch much tv or read the newspaper as often as I should. I listen to the radio to and from (insert various locations here) or listen to your cds (seriously....the ONLY cds I can hear all the way through are yours)

So I won't say "less politics, more music" You say what you want, it's your blog. I just wanted to say thank you, you're reaching out to at least ONE person who doesn't even really think about it until I read it here. Say what you want cutie! If they don't want to read about it...oh well.

Thanks, Jess! Its always a good thing to see both sides. Is politics a necessary evil or is it just EVIL?? I know that our governmental system isn't perfect, but its better than the chaos that would ensue without it.

If we would all hold ourselves and each other accountable for our actions things in this world might just be better. We all need to subscribe to the same standard of basic human decency and courtesy.
