Hello Freedomphiles!  At Columbia University's Humor-Fest 07, Iranian stand up comic Mahmoud Ahmadinejad absolutely killed the crowd with this bit, sending them into fits of uncontrollable laughter:

In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country. We don't have that like in your country. ... In Iran we do not have this phenomenon.

No living ones, anyway.

I don't understand why it's so hard for people to grasp this, obviously there would be physical repercussions if some guy wanted to pack some other guy's fudge in Iran, but moreover, don't you think maybe it's possible that the men in Iran have it quite a bit harder over there than the fat asses in our own which allow for such deviations in culture?

Here's the YouTube of Iran's underground gay community:

I don't think so. There is a vast history of Persian homosexual literature, and then there's all the executions and such. There are the underground Iranian gay groups. I don't know what the percentage would be (it's not like you could poll them), but they seem to be there.

Well so then you proved your point didn't you? He just doesn't want to accept that he does have homosexuals in his country. However, because of the free culture of the west, it's obviously a lot easier for gays to 'come out of the closet' in our own country.

For the record, I have nothing against them, as long as they don't try to get me in bed or whatever, and I have at least one friend from childhood who turned out to be gay; they're certainly not the jock-type who continually instigate people into fistfights, etc.

Live and let live, what's wrong with that philosophy? If every one were just like me, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

Hahaha...thanks. No, I didn't assume you were anti-gay. And indeed the world would be really boring if everyone were just like you. If they were like me, obviously it would be awesome. Hahaha....j/k

No homosexuals, no women's rights, absolute presidential power, theocratic rule- sounds like exactly what Dobson et. al. wants for us! Just wrong fairy tale to believe in.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has an extremely long finger....
why has no one else noticed this?
hahaaaa

i hate this guy and his views on personal liberty, or lack there of.
that said - i'm glad they let him talk and don't understand the outrage.
i am not pissed or upset because i like the idea that freedom of speech gives me the opportunity to hear it from the devil's mouth...direct. and i like that i'm given the opportunity to think for myself - instead of being told what to think.

i only wish the world would have gotten to listen to an unsensored hitler as well!
