Hello Freedomphiles!  So, remember last week when I posted the Freedom File about Tom Cruise and his fruity Scientology video?  Go back and read it to get the lowdown on Scientology.

In the meantime, though, a new video has surfaced on YouTube.  This from someone(s) calling him(them)selve(s) Legion.  Here's a transcript of what it says:

Hello, Scientology. We are Anonymous.

Over the years, we have been watching you. Your campaigns of misinformation; suppression of dissent; your litigious nature, all of these things have caught our eye. With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into mainstream circulation, the extent of your malign influence over those who trust you, who call you leader, has been made clear to us. Anonymous has therefore decided that your organization should be destroyed. For the good of your followers, for the good of mankind–for the laughs–we shall expel you from the Internet and systematically dismantle the Church of Scientology in its present form. We acknowledge you as a serious opponent, and we are prepared for a long, long campaign. You will not prevail forever against the angry masses of the body politic. Your methods, hypocrisy, and the artlessness of your organization have sounded its death knell.

You cannot hide; we are everywhere.

We cannot die; we are forever. We're getting bigger every day–and solely by the force of our ideas, malicious and hostile as they often are. If you want another name for your opponent, then call us Legion, for we are many.

Yet for all that we are not as monstrous as you are; still our methods are a parallel to your own. Doubtless you will use the Anon's actions as an example of the persecution you have so long warned your followers would come; this is acceptable. In fact, it is encouraged. We are your SPs.

Gradually as we merge our pulse with that of your "Church", the suppression of your followers will become increasingly difficult to maintain. Believers will wake, and see that salvation has no price. They will know that the stress, the frustration that they feel is not something that may be blamed upon Anonymous. No–they will see that it stems from a source far closer to each. Yes, we are SPs. But the sum of suppression we could ever muster is eclipsed by that of the RTC.

Knowledge is free.

We are Anonymous.

We are Legion.

We do not forgive.

WE DO NOT FORGET.

Expect us.

Yikes.  I don't know if that is for real or if it is a hoax, but I can tell you for sure the filmmaker has read too many comic books.  They do use some inside jargon, like SP, which is the Scientology term that means Suppressive Person.  Essentially, it is a catch-all phrase which indicates enemies of Scientology, and often just means everyone who is not a Scientologist.

That's what makes Tom Cruise even more creepy when he dreams of a world with no SPs and laughs maniacally.  See the video in the original blog to verify.

So, here is the new video:

Thanks to compound fracture for the tip.

Poor Katie. But... she consciously made that decision, so it's hard to feel bad for her.

Also, I Stumbled Upon that letter from 'Anonymous' yesterday, god I love StumbleUpon.

ps: am updating my TotalFark profile (yes, that's right, not just Fark but TotalFark!) thanks to someone who very generously sponsored me. (TF subscriptions are $5/month, and Rostit blessed me with a 'recurring' sponsorship, so we'll see how that turns out.)

So anyway, since I have this handy since I just put it in my TF profile:

"Belief in god is silly and naive and superstitious, and anyone who chooses to believe in such nonsense will not get any respect from me." -me

(From the mud I frequent:) You gossip, 'nod it's totally illogical, it's stupid, that's what makes up faith.'

As the historian Stephen Henry Roberts (1901-71) once said: “I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”

'"Faith" is a synonym for prejudice - willed belief in the direct opposition of reason and evidence.' -someone famous, tho their name escapes me at the moment.

You woulda thought Katie would have gotten a clue from that movie she was in, forget the title (high school students brains controlled).

Cool quotes Phil.

I like Katie. She's been in some good movies: Batman Begins, Go, Pieces of April, The Gift, Muppets From Space, Wonder Boys, Thank You For Smoking...

Yes, I have that flick (my brother gave it to me for Yule around '02 I think, before he started thiefing things out of my room, which led to me getting arrested when I confronted him, but that's another story) and it's excellent, I refer to her in it as 'pre-cruise Katie.' It's one of the few DVDs I own that I find myself watching over and over again. Plus, James Marsden is the kid who plays Cyclops in the X-Men trilogy, and of course Nick Stahl, who I'm not a real big fan of, but he's been in quite a few, I think he was John Connor in T3, I caught a glimpse of it but haven't seen the whole thing yet, nor do I really care to; the 2nd one was best, anything more is just milking a dead cow.

I came back to get my atheist quotes, they were separate before but now I'm gonna clump 'em all together as a text clipping so I can just drag n drop them instead of wasting time typing it over and over again.
