Follow Your Lead

Each week we want to highlight one of the amazing organizations we are supporting. This week, we'd love you to get involved with helping TOMS donate shoes.

TOMS Shoes is a unique socially conscious shoe company with a mission to improve the conditions of children living in poverty. The issues with HIV/AIDS are closely linked to poverty and the need for basic survival tools. Many children in Africa walk miles each day without shoes. With each pair of shoes sold, TOMS has committed to give a pair to a child in need, one for one, and you can also donate directly. Many individuals have donated or bought shoes, thereby enabling thousands of shoes to be given to children, making a tangible impact on their lives and providing them with a tool to start improving their situation.

OUR GOAL: To donate 500 pairs of shoes to children in need.

I love you guys and what you're doing! Oh, and Taylor....I LOVE the fact that you're wore the shirt I gave Isaac in Vancouver in Calgary! To see one of you guys wearing something that I bought just makes me so incredibky giddy! I love it! I'm working on getting the approval of my Girl Guide District to do a Walk with my Girl Guides. I mean, hey....I gave Girl Guide cookies to you guys, I have to have my Girl Guides take the Walk!

Great Video guys! love it! Just wish I could have been there :-( But I know that the walk in Cleveland has inspired me to buy TOMS shoes...and it really did take walking barefoot to realize how important shoes are. I think I had blisters after just half a mile, but I did walk the full mile barefoot and I'm glad I did! You guys are amazing! Keep on walkin' !!

That was a really nice video guys. I sure wish I could come and do a walk to help support the cause. I've been wanting to do that ever since I heard about the walks that you guys do but I don't live close enough to get to the places where the walks are held. You guys are doing a great thing and you ROCK!!! I'll always be a fan who supports what you guys do. :) Good luck on the rest of the tour and the walks!

Hey! Awesome video! I'm so proud to say I took the walk in LaCrosse and Minneapolis so far! I was thinking about what to get my family for Christmas yesterday and then I thought that we're lucky to even be able to exchange presents so I decided that I would donate to the causes on takethewalk.net as a part of my Christmas shopping. It was amazing to meet you guys at my meet & greet in Minneapolis and the concert was awesome as always :) Thanks for all you're doing and hope to see you again soon!

You guys are amazing!
I took my first walk in Charlotte NC, at Amos' before the show and it was wonderful! There was so many people there and so many that went without shoes ( I happily did :D). I just wanted to let you guys know that it is such an honor to be apart of "The Walk" and the whole experience in general of just getting to be around you guys and seeing the world change one mile at a time.
Thank you so much for all that you do :)
Can't wait to see you all again and can't wait for the next WALK!
Come back soon!
Love you all!

My first walk was in Nashville this month. It is wonderful to be involved in something that can actually make a difference. You have always been such an inspiration to me musically and to see you so passionate about these causes really helps motivate me to get involved. Having a child of my own now and understanding what special gifts they are to our lives makes my heart break even harder knowing that children are living in poverty and AIDS not just in Africa but everywhere in the world. I will do what I can to help spread your message and my husband and I will give, give, give. I pray that more and more people will "follow your lead" for years on out. Thank you and your families (because they have been your strength through EVERYTHING) for keeping HOPE alive!

It's incredible how visible it is that you guys are truly appreciative of the people joining you guys on the walks, walking barefoot. The fact that this hasn't trickled into nothing and you're still going strong, educating people about all of this is even more inspiring to me now than when you first started this last year. Keep on walking, keep on raising awareness, keep on inspiring people. It's making a difference.

God bless you guys.

Nice video, I think Ike's a very good camera man and knows how to ask questions. By the way, at the end of the video says "Join the take the walk CAMPAGIN", I don't think you actually read this, but if you do, maybe you'd like to know it...
I'm actually very much into TOM'S work, hoping to buy a pair of TOM'S Boots anytime soon! Keep the hard work, we need to worry!

The passion you guys have inspires me.

I took the walk last year in Orlando and it was raining and we were all so gross, This year I took the walk in Orlando and got blisters on my feet! But that's the point, and it was worth it. I also did a walk with a group of great girls on our own and got stopped by three security guys telling us we couldn't hold our signs. We did the walk anyways.

I can't imagine what you guys have seen in Africa especially with those tiny graves but the pictures I've seen are enough for me to want to do anything, everything I can to help.

Like someone else posted, I'll "Follow Your Lead"!

This year in Orlando was my first walk....I had my mom and sister attend. My little sister who is 11....didnt understand why mostly everyone was walking without shoes. When I explained to her she was shocked. Kids these days have no clue whats going around the world.
I think its more special when someone with cast...or cancer or whatever it may be is taking the walk. My sister has a Tumor in her head and she took the walk. Im so proud of her taking her shoes off taking that Mile walk, and realize people arent so lucky as we are in life. And shes not the only one with a sickness.
So thank you for doing these walks...lookin forward to many more!

love always,
dezi

I only wish that I could've gone to the Louisville walk, but, unfortunately, I had a band contest at Murray State that day. Plus, I'm not 18 (yet), and my family wouldn't see the point in taking me up there simply to walk.

But I think this is the greatest idea a band has ever had (at least, in my lifetime), and I hope that soon the entire country (and eventually world) acknowledges that.
