Current mood:  tired

1. I'm Austin-bound again in 6 days. (visualize sheepish grin here)

2. Someone gave the prairie dogs by my house some asparagus tied up in a bundle. At first I thought that was the sweetest coolest thing, but now I think anti-dawg evil may be abound. But then I stopped that thought because I often want to give them food too. Good people love prairie dogs. They do. But I don't think they like asparagus because it's still just sitting there. Or maybe they're just smart.

3. Back in December I submitted two black and white sticker designs for Burning Flipside. A contest they had for sticker and ticket designs, the winners getting tickets to the event.
So with only a day to spare because I stumbled upon this info at he very last minute, I worked my ass off because I'm beating a deadline, Motherfucker! So instead of packing to go to Florida, I sit at my puter and concoct these and another couple designs that I never sent it cuz it was too late.
I'm all relieved because I made it by midnight, right?
Wrong. I get an email the next day with a sincere thank you from the powers that be, but also with a question as to why I am submitting them two weeks past the deadline.
Upon rolling my eyes back into my sockets and further investigation, I realize that I am a total tard and have no idea what the fuck day it is at any given time.
Anyhow, the stickers are on printed material for the event so that's real cool, but I tell ya what... if I HAD them in on time, I'd totally be going free of charge, Baybeh.
DOH!

4. I cut the fuck out of my hair. The pic I have titled 'half assed chopped hair' was taken after I cut the length off and before a professional got her hands on me.I'll have a 'good' picture up soon... providing I don't pull it all out by the roots for getting in my fucking face before I get around to it. I'm giving myself a little while with it like it is before I decide to go all out and crop it 4 inches all the way around and have the bed-head/mini-dread/helmet look.

5. I start Boulder College of Massage Therapy on July 12th. Huzzah for me!
Yep, I'm back in school after 18 years. Time to move on and change my shit. One would think all this should have happened last year around my 40th birthday, but nope... here it is.
Like a fucking explosion. It'll take me almost 2 years to do it, going 3 days a week from 9-4 with 2 hours of homework a night, but I'm good for it.
I LOVE school, and as experience and history have it, when I go... I actually make a career and money for what I went to school. I'm like 1% of the population that actually DOES what they spend money and time to learn to do, so I'm fucking psyched.
Lots of reason for this decision, which I'm sure I'll babble on much more about as it gets closer to the date.
But yeah... hooray for me!!!

6. The fuckhead is showing more mental instability than he has in many years. More motions to the court and more chaos... as if he went out and bought himself a brand new shovel.
After years of witnessing each independently insignificant scoop be tossed to his side, I watch in silence as he relaizes how deep he really is... and in panic to stand up out of the earth, his footing begins to falter and the dirt starts to run back in around him... I feel his desparation to climb out but the earth is faster going in. Nothing and noone to reach for, he is buried under all that he has created for himself.
And when he is out of sight, I will scatter leaves upon the upturned earth and I walk away. Peaceful with the thought that noone will even know he was ever there. And me and my children will live in peace and health and love without anguish or chaos or interference. Just wait.

7. I bought a tent. Just cuz.

8. Next up for me... new glasses. I've been wearing my contacts for months, and for months at a time without even taking them out of my eyes. Bad bad bad. My glasses have one arm, leg, whatever the fuck they're called, and have stories to tell. The lenses are from two pairs ago and the frames are from the dollar store. It's time to spend the $150 and get an exam and some new specs.

Alright... I'm tired. I'm overwhelmed and drained and find the months in hyperdrive.
But the warmth is here and I will soon be able to pimp out my bike and orange is now my new favorite color.

Night.

Wow, Kiddo, you've got a lot going on!
Love you dearly, and I hope your travels to Austin are a relaxing respit for you. SO good to see you at the fair and look forward to catching up with you soon. We may have to have one more pot luck party at the Buckingham Palace to bid it adieu properly and close the vortex in the family roon - AFTER we use it one more time. Whaddya think about that idea?
Have a great time in Austin. I'll catch ya after you return.
