Listen up everyone! Our good friend Nathan Burke (ex-Frodus) is releasing his second solo record as The Out_Circuit. The record is called Pierce The Empire With A Sound, and it is awesome. Teppei mixed the whole record, played some guitar, and Dustin sang lead vocals and co-wrote lyrics on a track. It also features appearances from Sean Ingram of Coalesce, Rachel Burke of Beauty Pill, as well as members of Roadside Monument, The Epochs, Haram, and more.

This is a snippet from the bio on the record...

The Out_Circuit makes music in reference to a state of mind. On their debut record, Burn Your Scripts, Boys, that state of mind was mellow, moody and atmospheric. For the bands' sophomore effort, Pierce the Empire With A Sound, Nathan Burke holds to the bracing-yet-beautiful instrumental melodies that Burn Your Scripts was noted for, but builds on those, positioning them opposite a heavier sound actualized by occasionally screamy vocals and a driving rhythm section. Pierce the Empire With A Sound offers you that rare space where darkness and beauty collide.

The official release date isn't till Feb. 12th but you can buy it now exclusively from Lujo records website. There is also a The The Out_Circuit package deal on there where you get both Out_Circuit records, two other full lengths that feature Nate (Night is Invisible, Brahms) and whole bunch of other cool comps and such (including a Christmas comp featuring an Out_Circuit song recorded by Dustin).

We can't say enough about what a cool and diverse record this is. Check out The Out_Circuit's Virb account to hear a couple tracks off the record.

Hooray! Frodus has been one of my other favorite bands for a long time, I'm glad to see this connection made. I love it when bands collaborate.
