Just in time for the holidays I wanted to get on here and let you know a little bit more about what we are planning for Cult Classics in 2007. As many of you know the first half of next year is pretty full for us with a lot of BIG movie properties each month.
We have 300, Grindhouse, Pirates 3, and Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix all in a row and in between we have our regular Harry Potter line, some Music figures, Kratos from God of War, and various 12" and 18" that I will tell you more about in the coming weeks.

We recognize that Cult Classics has a hardcore following that we will continue to serve. The next release you will see under the CC banner will be the long-awaited Winchester 2 Pack from Shaun of the Dead. I just got an updated pre-production sample from the factory this morning and aside from 3 minor deco corrections it is almost perfect. This is a great set that SOTD fans will really love. This should hit shelves in early '07 (Feb/March)

Next there will be an 18" version of the Hannibal in Straight Jacket with Cart. We have made some changes to the 18" version so it is not an exact copy of the 7" and we will have images and details on him closer to Toy Fair. (Tentative Release - March)

The next 7" offering will be Jareth: The Goblin King from Labyrinth. Images have been on here for about a week and additional views and details are on www.necaonline.com
This figure is a thing of beauty and it helps broaden the CC horizon from traditional horror to include more fantasy. So far CC has been mostly Horror and Sci-Fi based but it has always been our intention to cover all genres that fit with what we do and with what fans & collectors want to buy. (Tentative Release - March)

That leads me to our next CC project for the Spring - Reservoir Dogs. Expect a series of 5 clamshell packaged figures with guns, bases, sunglasses, and a deluxe window boxed set of all 5 figures with a few extras thrown in. They will be offered both single and as a boxed set because some retailers want only single carded figures at a $12-$13 price point and other retailers want larger deluxe items with a higher price point. Just letting you all know in advance so you decide what version suits you best. (Tentative Release - April)

After the Dogs comes everyone's favorite cannibal, Hannibal Lector in his whites (bloody) with a nightstick and a jail cell base that is pretty sweet. We can't wait to show you this figure and sometime in January we will. Toy Fair is too far away to wait for this one.
(Tentative Release - May)

Now for some information that you did not know about. We are planning another collection of Cult Classics Hall of Fame for '07. We have 4 figures planned at present and 3 of the 4 differ quite a bit from their original release. We should be able to reveal the lineup at Toy Fair with images or at least details on them all. (Tentative Release - Fall)

Now for the long awaited Series 6 - yes these are coming. As mentioned earlier we have a lot on our plate in the first half of the year and offering some of the figures individually under the "Cult Classics Presents" banner allows us to release some great figures to you sooner since we don't have the time or resources to devote to an entire series or assortment right now. Cult Classics Presents will bring you Jareth, Hannibal (Version 2) and Reservoir Dogs in the first half of 2007. Not a bad lineup right?

Following up Series 5 (my personal favorite so far) is not easy but we have some great figures lined up for CC 6 including another highly requested license that has never received action figures before. We start sculpting some of these in mid January and we can't wait.

Also in development (not sure on where, when, or how we will release these yet) are 2 more figures from Dawn of the Dead, a 2nd and very different version of Jareth with Hoggle possibly as a Boxed Set, a collection of goblins from Labyrinth, and more.

Time to start enjoying the long holiday weekend. Thanks for the interest and support and I will try to make it back on with one more update before the New Year.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

Hey Randy, thanks for the big update man. I can't wait to see the sculpt on the new hannibal figure...both 7" and the modified 18", and I'm definetly getting the reservoir dogs set (mezco didn't do such a good job). btw, any news on more Highlander figures such as modern connor and kurgan?

Peace!

The first time Res Dogs figures were done, the Buscemi character didn't come with a gun, reportedly on the insistence of the actor. Is this still the case, or will NECA be giving him the appropriate firepower?

Wow! That all sounds great. The decresing quality of Hasbro's Star Wars line and McFarlane's "Movie Maniacs" almost put me off collecting forever. Thanks NECA, for making collecting cool again.

That news sounds great but I did not hear anything about the Kratos figure? I wonder if the new license is Poltergeist or The Excorsist? "Crosses fingers"

I know we just got a hole bunch of news, but I didn't see anything mentioned about Resident Evil, Players Select or NBX.

I do have a question, how many more series of NBX figures are we away from completing the entire set?

There's a few I can think of off the top of my head that still hasn't been done yet. The rest of the vampires, a jack santa sleigh boxset, etc.

This update only addressed the CC line.
Not to worry we are still working on RE, NBX, Player Select, and so on and so on
I can only cover so much at one time.
Hang in there some Resident Evil news is coming next week and there will be tons of news come Toy Fair time in mid-Feb

LOVE you guys so much, your work is ace.

One questiom/sugguestion - FROM DUSK TIL DAWN figures? I think a Seth and Richie two pack would be amazing and there are some fantasic vampires to be made, inc Salma with snake!? Seems like a no-brainer from my pov. Any chances, I know likness issues etc, but Sure Tarantino would be game and Clooney has an Oscar now, so what does he care!?

Keep up the g8 work though, love your lines so much!
