What follows is my transcript of the Foolscap interview with Charles De Lint. The interview took place in the Sommersett Rooms I & II of the Bellevue Sheraton at 3pm on Saturday, September 22nd.

I wrote as we spoke, and while I can write very swiftly, the result is far from exact. For example, at one point Mr. De Lint and I discussed how the main character from Blue Girl's name ought to be pronounced (because I keep wanting to say "EE-mo-gen") and got corrected. At which point we learned that Imogene ("Ihm-mo-jeen") got her name from Imogene's Antlers, this fabulous and funny David Small story that De Lint loves. I mentioned there's a guy version by wossname, you know, the big fat guy with bald head who did Fat Men from Outer Space[Audience: Daniel Pinkwater!] it's called I Was a Second Grade Werewolf

That bit isn't here. Sorry.

So, with apolgies for the several parts that didn't get transcribed, and for the parts (too many!) that are written up less with eloquence than originally presented, do the clicky-linky thing to read The Interview
