Had an amazing xmas. Lovely hanging with the family....

so ive been a little bored amongst the festive love... etc. I wrote two songs today which Im dying lay down... omg... Im missing the studio so badly. I hate not working gigging.... grhhhh. The first song is quite epic sounding and the second one is like white stripes meets Billie holiday. Pain and Pain and then first one I spoke about is Pain and Pain. These songs are alot darker than the rest and lyrically more darker. I have a huge unrequited crush on someone so theres lots to pour out on the one string.

Becoming obsessed with Japanoise music.
Being readin up on it and listening to alot of the music. Its reall interesting. I really wanna train my ears to unusul sounds this new year and get my heads space in a different world. It makes u more creative and more homed into a new experience and reflecting a new sense of enviroment causing u to reproduce a new sound or a new type of fusion.

Also listening to other bands such broadcast 2000 which are great ! There is so much great music out there and of course Little Dragon is on replay on the ipod ! Then there is David bowie who Ive been really rejuvinized by and old ska and reggea, like phyllis dillion. I mean Im a black girl with parents from the carabbien and its xmas time. There is loads of ska in the house over xmas. Everyone dancing..... xx

Music is such a beautiful thing.

Its like 4am and I cant sleep. Ive been reading about "Dada" which is really cool.

Wikepedia says;
Dada or Dadaism is a cultural movement that began in Zürich, Switzerland, during World War I and peaked from 1916 to 1922[1]. The movement primarily involved visual arts, literature (poetry, art manifestoes, art theory), theatre, and graphic design, and concentrated its anti war politics through a rejection of the prevailing standards in art through anti-art cultural works. Dada activities included public gatherings, demonstrations, and publication of art/literary journals. Passionate coverage of art, politics, and culture filled such publications. The movement influenced later styles like the avant-garde and downtown music movements, and groups including Surrealism, Nouveau Réalisme, Pop Art, Fluxus and punk rock.

"For us, art is not an end in itself ... but it is an opportunity for the true perception and criticism of the times we live in."[5]

nice x

also been reading about "light". The albums called travelling like the light so reding more into its briliance.

Took my twin bros to cinema to watch bedtime stories. Great movie... laughed like a hyena..

soooooo bored and its so hot. Might go and sleep in the carven in the garden.... or the tree house. Might be cooler.

So 09 is a comin. Im a little nervous. Ive worked soooo hard these padt 5 yrs. I hope 09 cracks for us. So many barriers and people you have proove to that this is truth. Thats why i like reading about dada.....

I wrote some film music on my parents piano.... it was lovely. I hope one day i can hire strings, bells, well ill do the bells and whistles and hear it alive....... that would be awesome....

ok i better sleep.

Hurrah for Dadaism! I used to really love the Dada art made during the 1st world war period.

Really looking forward to hearing what you have planned with the Billie Holiday..esque song, I love that soothingly depressing mood of hers :]

You earn nothing but huge kudos from me at being rejuvenated by David Bowie, that man is one of my favourite artists of all time, the man's musical scope and genius knows no bounds.

Here's to a Merry Belated Christmas and a spanking new year! Hope ya make it a goodun!

I got a book about Dada for Christmas! I've always been a fan. It's incredible how conceptually advanced it was despite its often playful appearance. Do you like The Bonzo Dog Band? They were arguably the most Dada band evah... http://www.myspace.com/bonzodogdoodahband1 As for David Bowie, my favourite stuff is from his early, Decca Anthony Newley-inspired period. But that's cos I love Newley. Most people think that's his worst era... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oSAnYMywT2U

Hope you had a good Christmas and all the best for the New Year! x
