BATTLESKA GALATICA - Songs From the Crypt: I've seen this band around four times now and they've never failed to impress but can they do the business in the studio. Yes I think so on the basis of this eleven track album that I have playing really loud in my player as I type. Inspired by the likes of 'Less Than Jake', 'Voodoo Glowskulls', 'The Ataris' and 'Goldfinger' this band really do the business for me with this hard edged Ska-core sound they play. Just check out tracks like 'Chemical Warfare', 'Brother Thom', 'Rock You Like A Candy Cane' and 'Stinkin' Linkin' and try telling me these are a crap band. I'd think you'd be off your head if you didn't see this band in a postive light. My only criticism is sometimes they have too much going on in a few places but with experience they'll work that one out themselves. Yeah go on give this band a listen. 7.5/10

BC CAMPLIGHT - Lord, I've Been On Fire:
This three track pop single is taken from their second album ' Blink Of A Nihilist' and I have to say this project happens to be one of the best bands I've heard through 'One Little Indian'. BC Camplight remind me so much of a cross between 'The Beautiful South' and 'Belle And Sebastian' when they play some of their poppier material. For me though the opening number 'Lord, I've Been On Fire' is by far the best track on here though the other two numbers 'The Hip And The Homeless' and 'Soy Tonto' aren't that far behind. Certainly a release to check out. 8/10

THE BEASTS OF BOURBON - Little Animals: Despite releasing over six albums this legendary Australian Rock outfit are new to me so what do I think? After listening to this album a couple of times I found myself tapping my feet to it. They kinda remind me of ACDC meets the Birthday Party with a bit of Blues thrown in for good measure. Many have said there's some 'Stones' thrown in there but I can hear that at all. There's ten tracks on this album and not one filler - Just hard, non compromising Rock all the way through. For any fan of Hard Rock this album is worth seeking out and it shouldn't be too hard to track down either. A great production too! Just a shame the band weren't as imaginative with the artwork as they are with their music. 8.5/10

DIE SISTER DIE! -  S/T EP: The four tracks I have sitting in front of me are going to be an EP released later on this year and they are certainly well worth a listen. As they say on their page "Rock n Roll power trios are back with the arrival of Die Sister Die! A band that features members of Fabulous Disaster, The Grannies & Black Furies all rolled up into one beautiful and terrifying package" and that's something I can't argue with. You only have to listen to Squeaky's guitar, Michaels bass and Mics's drummming to realise this three piece can play. On top there's duel female and male vocals which makes this all the more entertaining. For me the two numbers that really stood out for me were 'Already Dead' and 'The Trade' which totally blew me away. However the other two tracks 'Steve McQueen' and 'Shake It Off' aren't far behind! A really good effort for a band that really haven't been going very long. Die Sister Die! prove that Rock n Roll is far from dead! 8.5/10

ELLIOT MINOR - Jessica: Elliot Minor are making a name for themselves by packing out venue after venue on their current UK tour. This band play a healthy dose of hard edged Pop-Punk and going by this one track alone I'd certainly love to hear more. You can certainly hear the love they put in to their music and I reckon these will be a major player on the UK scene very soon. I just love this - 'Jessica' is one of the best songs I've heard this year and I don't say that lightly either. This band is the shit. Miss out at your peril. 9.5/10

THE FALLOUT - Dismantlement: This is the first time I've sat down and really listened to this band and what I hear I really like. 'Dismantlement' contains 13 politically charged songs that will have you pogoing around your room as soon as your hear the first number 'Compassion Over Killing'. From then on this album just comes at you like a smack in the face with a baseall bat. Yep this band takes no prisoners and with terrific songs like 'Riot Boys', 'Meat Market', 'Change The World Today' and 'The End Of The War Years' I promise you'll be won over. If only more poliitcally aware bands were this good then maybe this world wouldn't be in such a mess. This is Punk Rock at it's best and not only do you get a superb album you get a a top production too. The Fallout Rock - It's as simple as that! 9.5/10

FLOORS AND WALLS - What Can We Do Today: Often described as a cross between the Beasties Boys and Rage Against The Machine this band have been winning audiences all over the place. After catching them live twice I can understand why so many kids want to see them play. Floors And Walls have everything that a great live band should have. The question is have they managed to create what they do live in the studio and the answer to that is yes. This eleven track album is the nuts and I'm not the only one who thinks so in our household. The kids took it as soon as I brught this disc into the house then it was eventually found in my partners car! This album is that addictive and with tunes like 'The Stand', 'Grimey', 'Harder Than It Seems' and 'Snake' it's a safe bet that this album is going to be huge. Not only do you get some great tunes throughout but the production has captured the band at their best. If you're looking for something cool with plenty of originality then look no further than this baby. (9.5/10)

GUFF - Symphony Of Voices: This American Punk Rock band are new to me but on first listen of this album I can tell you they're a well cool band. If you're in to that 'American West Coast' sound then you'll love this band who are influenced by the likes of Bad Religion, NOFX and Rise Against. From the opening number 'Saving Your World' you're treated to some great songs such as the title track 'Symphony Of Voices', 'No Gods, No Masters', 'Rejected' and 'Changed'. Everything is so spot on in the sound though what stands out for me are the wicked guitarists and Guff's vocalist delivers his words with so much passion. Production is the nuts which doesn't surprise me as that's down to Charlie Paulson of Goldginger fame. This is one enjoyable album and comes well packaged too! 9/10

HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE - Murder At The Prom: Hollywood Suicide are a newish band and despite their short time together they've played some blinding shows. Now they've gone one better and produced a kick ass debut album. This four piece describe themselves as a 'Punkabilly' band and I couldn't find a better genre to describe this thirteen track offering. Fronted by 'Sickboy' these guys have managed to write great song after great song with tight musicianship throughout. What's more Callum plays a Double Bass which adds to the sound. Kicking off with 'Sunglasses After Midnight' this album just steams into the likes of 'Murder At The Prom', 'Six Feet Under', 'Surfin Death Valley' and closing with the wicked 'Psychokiller'. To add to this album is a great production and it's well packaged too! Hollywood Suicide have impressed me since the first time I saw them but this album is the best thing yet! A British band who really need to be checked out. 9/10

INSOFAR - Reach Out: I've heard this band's name through people talking about them but never heard anything until this three track single fell through the letter box. iNsoFar are a catchy rock band that come across as loving what they do and that's what makes this release more exciting than any other Rock releases doing the rounds. Just listen to 'Why Forgive' and you'll see what I mean. Like many other reviewers I'm surprised this band aren't signed to a large label as they have all the right qualities to be hitting it big time. On the basis of this release I hope you check these guys out as you'll be foolish to ignore a quality release. 8.5/10

JENNYFER STAR - On My Own: This is the debut solo single from Jennyfer Star who was formely with Danish Rock n Roll band 'Starlet Suicide'. Some one argue that these two tracks are very similar sounding to 'Starlet Suicide' and I for one would agree with that comparison. Still that isn't a bad thing and with this single there's more of an emphasis on Jennyfers voice which is amazing. Forget the likes of Brody and Courtney - Jennyfer Star has come into her own here. The opening track 'As Good As It Gets' is by far the strongest song on here and captures Jennyfer at her best. A great Rock N Roll song that is addictive. The second track on here 'Be The Same' isn't a bad number but it just didn't have that addictive feel that 'As Good As It Gets' has. There are some good monets in the song though I just think maybe a just a little more work on it though! All in all a pleasurable listen and I for one can't wait for an album. 8/10.

JUDDER AND THE JACK RABBITS - All In: This band are so new to me but like me they have sick minds and that can only be a good thing right? Well OK this release lyric wise might not be for everything but anyone who can blend Psychobilly, Punk and HC and still come up with a good tune deserves to be heard anyway! There's twelve tracks in all and I can't think of any track that doesn't serve to be on here. Just give tunes like 'Wreckin Rabbits', 'Drug Girl' and 'Death For The Dead' a listen and tell me these don't deserve to be heard! You'd be fucking insane to hate this release. My only grumble would be they should have spent a little more time in the studio but apart from that I recommend you go out and buy this bugger! 8/10

LIKEN - Promo CD: There's four songs in all on this demo and if they don't diverse their sound a little then they''ll go no further than just releasing their own demos. For me all the songs sounded the same and for a Rock band their sound was just too clean. It isn't if they're bad musicians either. On hearing this promo you can suss out they can play but like a lot of bands today they've rushed to get into the studio instead of doing more gigs first to gain experience. Liken would probbaly benefit from playing more live shows and maybe they'll get a sound that is fit for a Rock band. 6/10

THE MENZINGERS - A Lesson In The Abuse Of Information Technology: When you've had a shit day at work this album is certainly the medicine for restoring life back in to you. This catchy American Punk band influenced by the likes of Anti Flag, Against Me and The Clash really have put together a great album. From start to finish you're delivered 13 passionate songs that will have you have you jumping about all and even if some of you are old gits I'm sure you'll find yourseldf singing along. While there's so many American bands putting out diluted music the same can't be said of the Menzingers. Some of their songs are really aggressive and come at you hard but at the same time keeping it tuneful which Punk Rock should be about. There's some great tracks on here such as the title track ' A Lesson In The Abuse Of Information Technology', 'Keychain', 'Straight To Hell' and 'Clap Hands Two Guns' and these really are bets played very loud. A great album with balls and that's just what Punk Rock needs to re-ignite that energy and passion. 9.5/10

MINI SKIRT BLUES - The Itch: If you've never heard the Mini Skirt Blues before then you're totally missing out and this release is something not to miss out on. OK so it doesn't capture the greatness of them playing live but it's certainly well worth having in your collection. The Mini Skirt Blues remind me so much of the Cramps meeting Motorhead. Opening up this six track 10" is 'Doin' Time' and there is no let up with other tracks such as 'Bad Man', 'Pocky Whore' and 'The Itch' coming sat you like a smack in the face. Even their cover of 'Shakin' All Over' by Johnny Kidd and The Pirates is kick ass. Now all we need is a full player from these guys but in the meantime you're gonna have to make do with this excellent release. 8.5/10

PANIC CELL - What Doesn't Kill Us: Despite these being a local band this is the first time I've ever sat down and listened to their material and what I heard on this latest release I think is the nuts. Panic Cell combine Metal, Rock and Classic Rock in their sound which see's much diversity throughout this eleven track offering. On hearing this album I can understand why things are really happening for this band and I don't say that lightly either. Much work has gone into their sound and more importantly the band haven't fell into the trap of writing meaningless lyrics either. There's some great songs on here like 'Calm', 'Walk Away', 'Soul Purge' and 'Stare Into Oblivion'. Not only do you get a great album but the packagng and production are the tops too. 9/10

RAIRBIRDS - Rairbirds 1: I didn't like this when I first this album but since putting it aside for a while I've replayed it and I've found it's a good listen. OK sothere's some moments throughout this eleven track album that bore me but on the whole this is an energetic Experimental/Electro album that deserves a listen. There's twelve members in the band and they still feel the need to have an Orchestra involved too! Fucking mad but that's what make's this the album it is. On the whole what they've achieved on this recording works so I'm happy and I expect there will more excekllent reviews. Comes with a great booklet and certainly one of the better releases on 'One Little Indian'. 8/10

RAWHYPNOLS - Thank God We're Not Religious: Christ for starters the band name is a bit of a mouthful. Maybe I ought to take up Swedish, haha! Besides having a band name I can't pronounce I'm really enjoying this album. It's proper Garage Rock N Roll with balls and that's a brilliant thing in my eyes. There's thirteen tracks in all and everyone of them a good listen. Just a shame they didn't record more tracks as the thirteen on here just aren't enough! Some great songs like 'Opium Eyes', 'Lazy Summer Dream;' 'Young And Addicted' and 'M.I.L.F.' which was hilarious with some funny lyrics too - 'I Wanna Be With Your Mother I Wanna Make Her Scream'. I bet these don't win popular contests with the PC brigade with lyrics like that. Top played Garage Rocl N Roll with a brilliant production to boot. 9.5/10

THE SICK LIST - Promo: Many female fronted rock bands are often knocked for picking a female vocalist because of their looks rather than their voice and in many cases that criticism is justified. The same can't be said of the Sick List who have a stunning front lady who has an equally stunning voice. The three tracks on this promo confirm for that Emily Lazar is one talented lady. Having an excellent band behind her makes this promo even more appealling with Jay - Guitar/Vocals, Eric - Guitar/Vocals, Mark - Bass and Viveca - Drums all doing a blinding job. All the Sick List need now is a label to put them in the studio and get this band out touring the world. Great stuff. 8.5/10

SKIMMER - I'll Tell You What!: Kevin Powell is one of the coolest guys you'll ever meet but on this offering he really needs to think where Simmer are heading! Skimmer just sound like a watered down version of 80's Punk band 'The Sect' who Kev used to front. All fourteen tracks on here just sound so weak and droney. One wonders if the engineer shouldn't be prosecuted for this crap sound but even he can't be blamed for the tunes the band write. There's nothing postive I can say as all the songs sound the same and just played at different tempo's. Really there's only one place for this and that's the bin. Skimmer need to get back rehearsing and once they have some great songs written find a different recording studio and engineer. Let's have some classic like 'A Free England'. 3/10

THE SKATALITES - On The Right Track: This brand new allbum from Ska's finest band 'The Skatalites' was recorded in the studio while touring Australia in 2006 and in fairness is a masterpiece. The studio sessions actually took place in Byron Bay when they played the East Coast Blues Festival. There's thirteen tracks in all with one being a 60's cover and another being a dub remix of 'Outback Ska'. The Skatalites have been playing beautiful music for decades now and this album carries on in that great tradition. There's not one track on here that doesn't deserve to be on here and the quality of musicianship on this baby will just blow you away. Not only do you get a brilliant album for your money but you also get a well packaged CD with plenty of sleeve notes about the band and the making of this album. If you only buy one Ska aolbum this year make sure it's 'On The Right Track' by The Skatalites. 10/10

STRAIN - S/T: I was pleasantly surprised to read that Strain are a UK based band as their tight musicianship reminded so much of what's coming out of America at present. Influenced by bands such as 'Pantera' and early 'Machine Head' but with many of their own ideas thown into this self titled album I can safely say this is one hell of a metal album. I'd go as far to say it's one of the best metal albums I've heard this century. So many bands in this scene want to be the fastest and heaviest thing alive but Starin have got it just right. OK some of the vocals might be a tad too harsh for me but I can't argue with the quality of the music. Eleven tracks in all and everyone single one as hard as nails. That's how Metal should be played. 8/10

TV SMITH & THE BORED TEENAGERS - Perform Crossing The Red Sea: This live recording was taking from a live show at the 100 Club in London and what a recording this is! 'Crossing The Red Sea' is a classic Punk Rock N Roll album and TV Smith came up with the idea of playing the whole album live and I am glad that he did. They play all eleven tracks in the order of the original album and as a encore you get five tracks including 'New Day Dawning', 'Gary Gilmore's Eyes' and a newbie 'Good Times Are Back'. Some may complain this isn't the original band but hey TV Smith certainly picked the best band for the job. The atmosphere captured on this recording is one of the best live releases I've heard in a long time. If you're after modern day versions of 'Bored Teenagers', 'No Time To Be 21' and 'Great British Mistake' then look no further. TV Smith I love you for this and as a bonus you get some sleeve notes written by the great man himself. 9.5/10
