To suppliment my blog entries on "Mind Over Matter" and "Power of Prayer" I dug up some of my old research about the effect of the Earth's magnetic field on our brains, even affecting dreams.

Exposure to static magnetic fields as used in NMR-equipment generates a new encephalomagnetic field in human brain.[1]  [It has also been]…found…that by measuring sleep parameters, the REM latency is shortened in the E-W position of sleepers compared with the N-S position.[2]  There are statistically significant differences in the EEG of normal subjects, depending on whether the subjects sit facing the N-S or E-W direction.  The difference is especially pronounced in the alpha-power.[3]

Now I hear that they're trying to tell us that electromagnetic fields such as those generated by cell phone towers don't affect us? That it's only in our minds? And burning kerosene melts steel...
