Some people have contacted me asking for the pancake recipe. So, here it is!

It's the Magnolia recipe from Austin's Magnolia cafe- gingerbread pancakes, only I substitute half the flour for rolled oats. Yum!! LL

Gingerbread Pancakes

This recipe is from Austin's Magnolia Cafe. At any hour of the day or night, you are likely to find a crowd at the Magnolia -- a well-fed crowd.
3 eggs
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup brewed coffee
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour (Lisa substitues half the flour for rolled oats)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
4 tablespoons butter, melted
Cream together the eggs and brown sugar. Add the buttermilk, water and coffee, and stir until smooth. Set aside.
In a separate container, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg.

Combine the egg mixture with the flour mixture, and stir in the melted butter. Makes about 3-1/2 cups of batter, or enough for 8 to 10 pancakes.

I don't cook. Do you think you can make a batch and throw them off the Kent stage like frisbees. I'll try to catch one in my mouth. Thanks in advance.

Ok. Thanks!!! I'm used to making Aunt Jemima's "Just Add Water" stuff, so I don't know it'll turn out w/ me. Once I made or at least I was supposed to make this Asian curry dish for my family...I asked my grandfather how he liked it and (while choking) he said "eh...yeah it's really...good" I decided never to make anything from scratch again. anyways, I might as well try it out. thanks again!

I'm gonna make it eventually. I can't find buttermilk anywhere. I'd probably start a fire if I tried to make them my self!

I'll try it. I've had coffee (strained grounds) in Texas chili before and it was great! The pancakes should be just as good
