hello... i'm sat in a motel, with barely working internet, possibly steam powered, and a pool that has about 1 inch of water in it, in a place called Van Horn. its in Texas, and literally in the middle of no-where.

We're on a day off, and half way between Phoenix and Dallas, a roughly 1000 mile journey. its SO hot and humid. tom and i went to check out the "sights" earlier (a couple of dodgy fast food places, a liquior stuff (bizarrely drive thru) and a rough looking motel) and nearly died from exhaustion! though this oculd be due to our horrifically malnourished american diet. seriously, how is not everyone 250lbs here? not that im complaining, we love our 'double-gut-buster' burgers and canned cheese!
so im looking out the window, the view mainly consists of a lot of sand, a few mountains, a few rocks, one of those desolate train tracks, and a token tumble weed. actually i think theres a train coming - this could be the entertainment highlight of the day!
seriously though, this U.S tour has been bloody good - visited some amazing places and met a lot of very nice people - and the shows have been great! yesterday in phoenix we spent a lot of time in the pool, and played with guns on a shooting range, followed by a show in the evening. and they call this work?!
we're in dallas tomorrow, cowboy town. i'm hoping for one of those bars with the swinging wooden shutters, just like the western movies. awesome.
