Who Gives Kudos:

hello... i'm sat in a motel, with barely working internet, possibly steam powered, and a pool that has about 1 inch of water in it, in a place called Van Horn. its in Texas, and literally in the middle of no-where.

We're on a day off, and half way between Phoenix and Dallas, a roughly 1000 mile journey. its SO hot and humid. tom and i went to check out the "sights" earlier (a couple of dodgy fast food places, a liquior stuff (bizarrely drive thru) and a rough looking motel) and nearly died from exhaustion! though this oculd be due to our horrifically malnourished american diet. seriously, how is not everyone 250lbs here? not that im complaining, we love our 'double-gut-buster' burgers and canned cheese!

so im looking out the window, the view mainly consists of a lot of sand, a few mountains, a few rocks, one of those desolate train tracks, and a token tumble weed. actually i think theres a train coming - this could be the entertainment highlight of the day!

seriously though, this U.S tour has been bloody good - visited some amazing places and met a lot of very nice people - and the shows have been great! yesterday in phoenix we spent a lot of time in the pool, and played with guns on a shooting range, followed by a show in the evening. and they call this work?!

we're in dallas tomorrow, cowboy town. i'm hoping for one of those bars with the swinging wooden shutters, just like the western movies. awesome.

Jim. . .I live in Dallas. . .
it's not really cowboy town xD
Especially where you're playing.

You're playing in Downtown, near (or it could be considered in) Deep Ellum, the best part :D
I'm sorry to tell you but you probably won't find a bar with swinging wooden shutters xD
But before your show- you should go to this coffeehouse called the White Rhino.

It's in Cedar Hill, about 15 minutes south of Dallas.

You guys REALLY should check it out :)

A little road trip advice...There's no decent food in these little bumfuck towns you'll be driving through for days. It's nothing but fastfood places and dodgy, greasy trucker diners. Eat proper food in the cities where it's as easy to find as anywhere in Europe and stock up on fruit and veg at supermarkets before you head out on long road trips. The same foodie trends that have gripped the UK in recent years has also hit America so decent food is easy to find in all but the most provincial, backward towns. Unfortunately, you're having to traverse thousands of miles of just such culinary terrain. Bon Apetit and have fun in the States. You guys rock.

All my Brit and Aussie friends bitch about the food here when they come over. I've been bitching about it since I was old enough to understand how disgusting it is.

I've totally been to Van Horn and felt the same way. Sorry I missed you guys in Phoenix. I recently heard 'Shooting Star' as part of a media video for the new Rolls Royce Phantom coupe and have been hooked on you guys since. Best of luck with your European tour.
