ROCK B*CAUSE MAKES ITS DEBUT IN BALTIMORE SATURDAY, NOV. 3
Gareth Asher, Scott Leger, FLOREZ and Honor by August to Headline Charity Concert at The Lodge Bar in Power Plant Live!
Baltimore, MD (Sept. 30, 2007) – Rock B*Cause, a charity concert benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Lyrics for Life, will make its debut at The Lodge Bar in Baltimore, Md., on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6-10 p.m.. The inaugural concert will feature popular musicians Honor by August, FLOREZ, Scott Leger and Gareth Asher, with all proceeds benefiting the charitable organizations.
The concert and fundraising initiative was the brainchild of Deidra Stevens, a marketing manager in Baltimore, who came up with the idea in order to participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma society's Hike for Discovery. Hike for Discovery is the Society's adventure fundraising program that prepares people, from beginners to seasoned hikers, to hike locations like the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park.
"As a huge fan of up-and-coming musicians, I was really looking for a way to use my love for music to raise money for causes close to my heart," said Stevens. "Rock B*Cause is a great way to bring the Baltimore community together to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and also Lyrics for Live, which is a non-profit organization that hits home for all the generous musicians who agreed to participate."
Tickets are $35 and anyone interested in purchasing tickets can do so by visiting www.myspace.com/rockbcause or purchase them at The Lodge Bar in Power Plant Live. The bands participating include: Honor by August, a D.C.-based band who has traveled the country with Bon Jovi and Hootie & the Blowfish; FLOREZ, a rock-and-roll group whose bass player Erik Huffman recently finished filming SURVIVOR: CHINA; Scott Leger, whose hit song "Maybe Tonight, Maybe Tomorrow," won the International Song Writing Competition, earning praise from Brian Wilson, Macy Gray and Robert Smith; and Gareth Asher, a Georgia native, whose songwriting talent earned him the praise of many popular artists.
